Shane Ó Fearghail
They Might See Dolphins.

Shane Ó Fearghail is an Irish Singer-songwriter. His musical style fits neatly into the Irish Indie Folk box. He is from Dublin but is based in Vienna. Likened to REM, Crowded House, Rufus Wainright III and Ron Sexsmith, it is easy to see where his songwriting loyalties lie. Irish music however, is his first love.

On stage Shane is one of the best live performers out there. Energetic, engaging and unpretentious with a genuine depth and craft to his songwriting that is never far from his Irish Folk roots in it’s storytelling and pathos.

They Might See Dolphins, album number three has made its way quietly onto record, having secured a Worldwide Publishing deal with Sentric Music it was officially release worldwide 2017. He is working on Album number four.

"For fans of: Loudoun Wainwright III, Ron Sexsmith, Daniel Lanois,
Vienna - dwelling Tallaght (Dublin) native, Shane Ó Fearghail has the kind of vocal style that has traditionally always paired magically with an acoustic guitar. It’s the kind of music that sweeps you up in its storytelling, takes you for a ride and drops you off miles from the nearest pay phone. Thing is, you don’t mind the walk back, humming the tune now stuck in your head. One to watch..." YouBloom Dublin - 2016.

“Between playing more gigs than there are days of the week and working with songwriting collectives throughout Europe, you wouldn’t think Dublin-born Vienna-based singer songwriter Shane Ó Fearghail  would have time to fit more in. But he’s just managed to add another great experience to his songwriting CV where he closed the TEDx event at Klagenfurt.  Irish Musical Rights Organistaion (IMRO) Newsletter Dec. 2015.

Amidst constant touring and writing Shane is also involved in several European Songwriting Collectives where he continues to write songs as well as develop the art of songwriting with songwriting networks throughout Europe and further afield. In February 2015 Shane 2015 established the Viennese Songwriting Circle (VSC) to help develop and encourage songwriting locally including the VSC’s live performance platform The Acoustic Room.

Past Tours have included: Australia, Austria, Denmark, Croatia, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Slovenia, Turkey, the UK and The US. Shane plays solo and with full band.

Performing Live: Shane is a natural performing musician and whether it is on a large stage, on the festival circuit or in a small room singing to just twenty people; playing live is where he feels most comfortable.

Past supports have included: Ray LaMontagne, Amy McDonald, The Mission, Jack L, Paddy Casey and Sinead O'Connor.  2017 has been a great year and Shane is now currently back in Vienna promoting the new album following tour dates in Austria, Croatia, Denmark, France, Germany and Ireland with more tour dates to follow for Autumn.
