Attraction and town partners are invited to submit up to 6 events for possible inclusion in 2017 events calendars. Ideally both the name of the event and the exact 2017 date(s); failing that the name of the event and the month in which it takes place. The deadline is Wednesday 31 August.

Plans for 2017 trade activity are underway and irrespective of whether you are a member of our travel trade group you can take advantage of these. Explore GB - Brighton, 2 & 3 March 2017 - VisitBritain's annual flagship event, meet with up to 350 international hosted travel buyers from 40 countries worldwide for a two-day workshop of pre-scheduled, one-to-one meetings.

SW Trains London Rail Commuter Magazine are running a Wiltshire feature in the August edition. We will be submitting content on Autumn/Winter events, Christmas shows, shopping, entertainment, dining and corporate hospitality, plus any accommodation news /offers. Please send information to Flo before Tuesday 19 July to be included. Plus there will be a Wiltshire towns feature in their October edition, so please can town partners get in touch with any town news.

The Sun are doing a piece for travel on Roald Dahl 100 and all the great events that are happening this year to celebrate him. If you're doing anything wonderful this summer relating to this please send info to Flo as soon as possible.

Industry News 

Tourism Alliance Survey
The Tourism Alliance have put together a survey on the impact of the referendum on the UK tourism industry. This consists of 10 questions aimed at determining the 
consequences of the decision to leave the EU, the results of which will shape the Tourism Alliance’s discussions with Government on what actions need to be taken to support the sector. Please complete the
surveyDeadline for completion is 21 July with the results being presented at Tourism Alliance AGM in Parliament on 26 July. 

Tourism Alliance Inquiry Evidence
The Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Select Committee has announced that they are holding an inquiry on rural tourism. The inquiry will focus on how the Government can support the growth of the rural economy through tourism. To do this, the inquiry will look at a number of issues including marketing, access, funding and fiscal policies, infrastructure and skills, local environment and character and Defra role. Please contact
