Magna Flora – Magna Carta’s 800th Anniversary Finale
Salisbury Cathedral’s 2015 celebrations reach a floral crescendo with Magna Flora, a spectacular flower festival themed around Magna Carta.
Showcasing the work of 500 flower arrangers and astounding floral art created out of 30,000 blooms, the festival runs from 15-20 September. Displays include giant fantasy flowers, massive floral lampshades hanging from the ceiling and 25 panels depicting the Barons present at Runnymede.
A nave-length display depicts England in chaos before Magna Carta on one side and ‘in order’ afterwards on the other. There are also twice daily floral design demonstrations, accompanied by live music. A feast for all the senses!
