Our 2016 Photo Competition, in partnership with Salisbury Journal and other Newsquest titles, has got off to a great start, generating excellent exposure in the local press and some great entries for May. We are now accepting entries for June, so please do encourage all your guests to send in their photos as there are some fabulous prizes to be won. We are now taking bookings for advertising in our 2017 Visitor Guide and Visitor Map. You can advertise in one… or the other… or even both, thereby reaching more people and increasing your brand awareness. Details can be found on the Marketing Opportunities leafletHERE.The booking deadline is 30 August, but space is limited so we recommend you apply as soon as possible in order to avoid disappointment.

VisitBritain has just released its annual Great Britain Day Visitor Survey 2015which measures Tourism Day Visits taken to destinations in the UK. South West England received 136m tourism day visits with a £5,186m spend which is 9% of the GB total.
Kids in Museums Takeover Day 2016
Takeover Day is a celebration of children and young people’s contributions to museums, galleries, arts organisations, archives and heritage sites. It’s a day on which they are given meaningful roles, working alongside staff and volunteers to participate in the life of the museum. So get involved this year on 18 November 2016. This year’s South West Tourism Excellence Awards are urging businesses to enter by the deadline of midnight on Sunday 12 June.
The Awards cover the whole South West, including Wiltshire and categories include Attractions, Hotels, B&Bs, Spas & Wellbeing, Active & Sporting experience, Artistic, Cultural & Learning experience, Cafes, Pubs, Restaurants, Business Tourism, Holiday Parks, Customer Service, Accessibility, Tourist Information and Sustainability.
