Highways England is proposing to upgrade the A303 past Stonehenge between Amesbury and Berwick Down. At the height of the tourist season, a journey on this road which should take 10 minutes lasts over an hour. Without action, this will get worse.
Our proposed tunnel option would make this road safer, more reliable and resilient. It would also reduce average journey times substantially and boost tourist access.
