Geo-Fencing Offers Coming Soon!

GOLD level partners will shortly be able to provide geo-fencing offers for the Wiltshire app. If a visitor, who has already downloaded the app, passes near to your business, the offer will ping up on their phone/tablet. If you would like to submit an offer for this please send over details to Emma . Please note, the offers should be long-term valid for at least a couple of months or more.

We are keen to hear about what you have that's new for summer 2015. We'll be working up a 'what to do in the summer holidays' press release and plan to feature the best of what the county has to offer. So, if you have anything new, special events, activities or special offers please can you let Flo know before Mon 6 July.


VisitEngland are keen to find the country's top sporting destinations. Submit an image of your 'home of sport', not just an iconic venue but pretty village green, secret swimming spot or even your favourite walking or running route. Images can be submitted by simply tweeting or posting to Instagram, using the hashtag #HomeofSport. Please make sure you include your location and #timeforwiltshire

Great British Tourism Survey - March 2015

VisitEngland's latest Great British Tourism Survey for March 2015 can be found here. During January – March 2015, domestic tourism visits were at their highest level since 2008.

South West Tourism Growth Fund Job Vacancies

There are two job vacancies available for Programme Director and Programme Coordinator for the South West Tourism Growth Fund. These could either be employed via a DMO secondment to VisitEngland, or on a short term contract to a South West DMO. Please contact David for further information.

New Streamlined Visa Service for Chinese Visitors

The UK and Belgian governments have announced a new pilot scheme that will further streamline visa application processes for Chinese visitors wanting to travel to the UK. Chinese customers will be able to submit applications during a single visit to a UK visa application centre (VAC). The new process will be rolled out as a pilot at the UK’s Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai VACs and will be available from 1 July. 

Tourism Excellence Awards 2015/2016

Final chance to enter this year's official tourism awards for the South West. The deadline for Wiltshire has been extended and businesses are now requested to submit or register entries by 10 July latest. Training opportunities are now available and these will be held at Royal Wootton Bassett and Salisbury. Sessions are at £25 plus VAT each (usually £250) unless otherwise stated.
