Online Marketing Group

We are looking for partners to join our Online Marketing Group.  The roles and responsibilities of the Group are to guide VisitWiltshire on online consumer marketing strategy and activity; identify initiatives for developing sector online marketing activity; be a focal point for ideas and initiatives; identify, evaluate and review performance measures relating to the impact and effectiveness of the online marketing activity; review online marketing initiatives; represent VisitWiltshire members within their sector; be ambassadors and spread the word to other members/prospective members.  We usually meet about once a quarter.  If you have experience and interest in online marketing please contact Fiona Errington for more details.

New Royal Artillery Museum for Wiltshire

We are delighted to be able to confirm that following a tough competitive process led by VisitWiltshire, Salisbury Plain has now been selected as the preferred location for construction of a new military visitor attraction, museum and exhibition centre by the Royal Artillery Museum. Planned to open in Spring 2019, the attraction will allow visitors to immerse themselves in the 300 year story of the Royal Artillery through one of the UK’s largest military collections.  Further information can be found here.

VisitWiltshire launches 'Visit Salisbury' Campaign

The third of our national campaigns with VisitEngland, Heritage Cities, is launched this week, promoting Salisbury as the perfect short-break destination. Salisbury campaign partners feature in an eight-page leaflet with 150,000 distributed in The Times and Daily Telegraph.  It will also include consumer e-newsletters, online advertising, social media activity, press releases and blogs plus exposure through the campaign website pages and train panel adverts on South West Trains.  The campaign web page can be viewed here.
 

PR Update

Thank you to all who supplied information for our PR 'hooks' 2015 document.  This has been called '10 Great Reasons to Make Time for Wiltshire in 2015' and has been sent out to all of our media contacts.  We have already received initial responses so will keep you posted.  You may have seen December's Group Travel World Magazine which printed a super Wiltshire feature after attending our familiarisation trip earlier this year - £5,000 worth of AVE.  
 

Travel Trade Group

The VisitWiltshire Group Travel Trade Group met last week to discuss the performance measures and associated activity being undertaken by Florence in the new Travel Trade role. The paper submitted for discussion can be found here and we are keen to obtain feedback from all partners who are interested in marketing their product to this sector.  If you have any queries or would like to discuss this further please contact Florence.

Bed & Breakfast Industry Conference - 25 & 26 February
