Blooming Wild

Each year spring bursts forth to delight us in a slightly different way.  This year it’s the profusion of wildflowers – just magical.

We’ve been doused with an abundance of winter rain this year, and wherever you look nature is flourishing! Water flows freely along the Balingup Brook and into the beautiful Blackwood River.  The farmers are smiling with dams full to overflowing, and the promise of a generous harvest awaits.
The rows of fruit trees in the orchards are transforming, displaying delicate pink and white blossom.  Small green buds will follow, and we know then that spring is truly upon us.

If you’re keen to immerse yourself into this year’s wildflower season check out the Blooming Wild Festival which runs from 3rd Sept to 20th Nov, 2016 right throughout the southern forests and valleys. This event celebrates all things wildflowers, spring, arts, heritage and culture.
Razzama Dazzle

Razzama - Dazzle

Next time you’re in Balingup make sure you visit Razzama - Dazzle. This delightful, vintage inspired clothes shop on Balingup’s main street will wow you. Run by Maya, the shop showcases an eclectic range of  underwear, corsets, costumes and clothing. Maya, the eldest daughter of two bohemian artistic parents, fell in love with the circus and theatre at an early age, and has been influenced by the spirit, soul and colour of Mexico. Maya is also fascinated with the Renaissance, Bottachelli and Burlesque and her range of clothing reflects all of these styles. Another piece of Balingup magic!
