Hey everyone!

Thank you to all the parents and volunteers who drove last night during our "$5 to Change The World" night. It was so incredible to witness the creative and compassionate ideas that our students came up with. Parents, be sure to ask your student what they did in their groups!

We are less than TWO WEEKS away from WONDER 2023 and I couldn't be more excited for all that God is going to do throughout this amazing weekend. Students, if you have not yet registered, please go ahead and do so! While registration will not ever close, the more who register early, the better planning and preparing our team can be for you! Parents, please reach out to me or any of our staff if you would like us to connect with your student and encourage their participating in Wonder 2023. Finally, a reminder to all that partial and full scholarships are available for any student in need.

But before we get to Discovery, we still have lots of great programming throughout the week and this coming Sunday, so be sure to read through this email in full, including registration for all summer trips that are all open!

DISCOVERY WEEKEND! March 3-5, 2023.
Full and Partial Scholarships are also available for any student in need. Simply indicate in the payment section.

Less than TWO weeks away from WONDER 2023! NOW is the perfect time to invite a friend to join you at Discovery!

Discovery Weekend is a Middle School retreat, hosted and held at Trinity United Methodist Church. At Discovery, your relationship with God is the focus. This is why we worship in new and creative ways that help you examine your life and understand the depth of God’s love. It’s a weekend where you are not only encouraged to be YOU, but where you might find out more than you ever knew about who you REALLY are!

It’s a jam-packed weekend full of games, small groups, incredible worship, funny videos, skits, DJs, great eats, messages from High School Seniors, and so much more. Parents, don’t worry though, this is NOT a lock-in. We want your students to get as much rest during Discovery as possible so that they can fully participate and share in the weekend!

Also, if your grade/group time does not work for your schedule, feel free to email Kristi Edwards, our Discipleship Director, and we'll do our best to come up with creative solutions to ensure your student can remain engaged in this discipleship pathway.

Each week, students will have the opportunity to further both their knowledge of the Bible, as well as practical and theological application as they take deep dives into the scriptures. Below are the following classes that are currently offered:

Confirmation - Led By Eleanor Christiansen
7th & 8th Grade Class - Led By Jade Carter, Bert Allen and Element Staff
High School Class - Led By Reed Dimmitt, Greg Brockwell and Element Staff
Theology 101 - Led by Robert Sturdivant

THIS SUNDAY NIGHT: 6-8 PM, High School & Middle School are split up!

This training will be held in the Haven (the youth space at Trinity) we will be holding an important High School Leader Training (regardless of your role in the weekend). It is super important that everyone makes their best effort to join us for the night. Even if you have not yet registered for the weekend, please plan to be here tonight. Because of the pandemic, only our 12th graders have ever been Disciple Group Leaders at Discovery, so we have a lot of ground to cover tonight. Dinner will be provided as well!

MIDDLE SCHOOL: Meet At Vestavia Bowl! Bring $10.
Currently, as long as the weather continues to look mild, we will be serving dinner AT Vestavia Bowl in the parking lot, along with our devotional for the night, beginning at 6 PM. For those in youth handbells and choir, we will also provide transportation from Element, which will leave at 6:05 PM and return to Element at 8 PM.

Summer Mission Trip Registration is now open, and many of the trips are beginning to fill up. If you have not signed up, now is the time!
