Help Wanted: Building & Grounds Coordinator

Friends,

As Fall has fully kicked into gear, 140 Gathering Place Lane has become a very busy place. Nearly every week, St. Andrew's building not only houses our worship services, music practices, and small group gatherings, but we also host gatherings of local scout packs and troops, ecumenical bible studies, local recovery groups, food security efforts, and various youth groups from Neighborhood Centers of Johnson County.

As the photos below show, in one 9-day period from Oct. 13 to 22, St. Andrew's building also played host to:
  • A full-staff training session for Neighborhood Centers,
  • The annual Breakfast and Bazaar for the Pilot Club of Iowa City,
  • On with Life's second annual Parkinson’s Conference,
  • And a Vital Congregation conference by the Presbytery of East Iowa.
And that was in addition to our regular weekly programming, not to mention a special All Church Work Day (see below).

To help ensure our building remains such a vibrant community resource, St. Andrew is actively seeking candidates for a new half-time building management position the church staff. If you or someone you know would be interested in joining our ministry team as a Building and Grounds Coordinator, please check out the church website for more information about apply for the position: https://saintandrew-ic.org/who-we-are/job-openings.

Thanks to All Who Helped on Oct. 22

St. Andrew's Building & Grounds Team offers huge and heartfelt thanks to the 20 church members who came out on Saturday Oct. 22 to spruce up our church grounds.

Under the direction of our fearless leader Dave Nicholson, we had a beautiful sunny morning of weeding, whacking, digging, mulching, spreading, and dumping!

Our beds and berms are tidied and ready for fall thanks to Bruce, Twila, Joan, Judy, Kathy, Becka, Tim, Paul, Broderick, Elizabeth, Helen, Randy, Peggy, Aaron, Ken, Ginni, Rebecca, Dave and Dave.

If you had other commitments that morning, never fear -- we will schedule more church work days throughout the year and will welcome your participation any time.

Thank you!
