G.A.N.G. Award Voting is Open

The 15th Annual Game Audio Network Guild Award Nominees have been announced and member voting is now open until February 10th, 11:59PM PST. View all the nominees here.

The winner has regularly been decided by a single vote, and we have had ties in the past. Your vote counts!

The voting system requires that all votes be submitted in a single session. Therefore, please go through all the categories, noting your favorites WITHOUT clicking “Submit Vote.” ONLY after you have made a decision on all the categories should you mark them and actually vote. When voting remember to consider the overall game and audio, not only the sample link provided.

To vote you must be logged into the G.A.N.G. site using your G.A.N.G. credentials. If you have any problems with your account, you can contact richard@audiogang.org

Message from G.A.N.G. Founder Tommy Tallarico

15 years ago I founded the non-profit organization G.A.N.G. (Game Audio Network Guild). The main goal was to connect people from around the world and help give as much creative, technical and business information as possible to others to further their careers and the entire industry. Because of the passion and dedication of others, it has done that and so much more. Building on our 4 pillars (Recognition, Education, Advocacy and Networking), if you are a composer, sound designer, voice-over talent, audio programmer, implementer, audio engineer, etc. and are looking to get into the video game industry then G.A.N.G. is the place for you! This is a membership trailer I put together to answer the question... "Why should I join G.A.N.G.?" or "How can G.A.N.G. help me?". From professionals to students to hardware/software manufacturers... G.A.N.G. is a organization that can easily help further your career.

Over 2,500+ people have joined the organization since 2002 and each year we bring in more incredible and amazing members, students, apprentices, sponsors, etc.

GDC Demo Derby

Submissions for the G.A.N.G. GDC Demo Derby are now open and will close February 15. 

New to this year's Music Demo Derby will be John Rodd who will provide a “Mix” evaluation as part of the panel critique.

All submissions will be considered in the order received.  We can not guarantee that all submissions will be able to be heard (so get your submission in early!). You must be a current member of G.A.N.G. to enter.

To ensure a quicker process we will only be accepting linear entries. Full details below:

Music Demo Derby
To make a submission, create a high-bit rate mp3 of your submission with the file name Last_FirstGDC17.mp3
ALSO create a text file with your contact information with the file name Last_FirstGDC17.txt

Submit hi-bit rate MP3 files (no WAV or uncompressed files, please) to the following folder:

  • All submissions must be 1 minute in length, no longer.
  • Submissions must be original work.
  • Submitter must be present in person at the demo derby to be reviewed at the derby

Sound Design Demo Derby
To make a submission, create a video where you have done all the sound design. Name the file Last_FirstGDC17.<mov,mp4> and copy it to the dropbox location below
ALSO create a text file with your contact information with the file name Last_FirstGDC17.txt

Submit videos (MP4 or MOV only please, no AVI or WMV) to the following folder:

  • All submissions must be 2 minutes in length, no longer.
  • Submissions must be original work.
  • Submitter must be present in person at the demo derby to be reviewed at the derby

G.A.N.G. Remix Awards at MAGFest

On January 7th, we held the first ever G.A.N.G. Remix Competition at MAGfest, the Music and Gaming Festival held annually in National Harbor, MD.  The event was a smashing success, heavily attended, and featured live music performances by the Videri String Quartet and Disco Cactus and software prize packages for the winners from our generous sponsors Acon Digital, boz-n Digital Labs, K Research and Sugar Bytes.

Pyramind Basic Audio Programming Tutorials
Pyramind have recently released a multi part series giving an introduction to basic programming for audio. You can also download two Unity projects - a Master project, with everything finished, and a blank project to follow along. You can even import your own sounds into the demo to make it sound how you like.
