Hillside Animal Sanctuary

At present we have around 2000 animals in the Sanctuary, including 1200 horses, ponies and cows, over 400 of whom we have rescued from dire situations since the beginning of 2012.  To help ensure their future, we desperately need to acquire more acreage and, to this end, we have been hoping to purchase additional land with outbuildings.
So, we were delighted when just recently, the perfect small farm, complete with barns and stables, within easy reach of our Sanctuary at Frettenham and adjacent to fields we already use, was offered to us.

With this in mind, we are urgently appealing for funds to help secure these ideal pastures and outbuildings to complement our existing facilities.  If we can acquire this land it will make an enormous difference - not only to many of the animals presently in our care but also to benefit animals who will need our help in the future.

If you would like to help with this Appeal, every £3 you kindly donate will allow us to purchase ONE SQUARE YARD OF LAND (including barns and stables). We will send you a certificate of thanks which would make an unusual gift or may be donated in memory of a loved one, as a permanent reminder of your support...

Some of the many animals we've given sanctuary to in previous months...
Arriving at Hillside - thirty shetland ponies, mainly pregnants mares, after they were discarded and their future looked very bleak...
Eleven baby goats born to a herd of fifteen, including several in-kid goats, who came to Hillside last autumn after their owner was banned from keeping animals when he was prosecuted for animal welfare issues.
Some of 89 surviving cows, the day after their rescue, who are now in Hillside's care after Trading Standards found 60 of the herd had starved to death on a Welsh farm...
Woody the pig had a narrow escape from the abattoir, when we received an urgent call from Police asking for help with a large spotted boar who was wandering around a Norwich council estate.
