<<First Name>>,

We could not do our work without you!

Every year, AMOS is sustained through people like you coming to serve with us in rural Nicaragua as volunteers, interns, and delegations. We provide multiple opportunities for students, medical professionals, other professionals, church groups, and university groups to get involved in the work AMOS is doing to provide access to health care to people who need it most.

Check out the programs we offer and see how you can be involved in the coming year:

1) Global Health Practicum: June 8 - 26, 2015

Are you interested in furthering your knowledge and experience on the latest methodologies in public health and want to take the opportunity to practice them hands-on with AMOS medical professionals and staff, health promoters, and volunteer mothers in rural Nicaragua?

Join other students and medical professionals in the summer of 2015 for this three-week Global Health Practicum. This course offers participants valuable public health knowledge and experience that will help fulfill a degree practicum or senior thesis, and will be an unforgettable time in your academic career.

Extend your Practicum into an Internship: June 8 - Aug. 7, 2015

Want to help perform community-based research and engage further in the rural communities you visited during the practicum? Extend your time with us by participating in one of the following internships:

Application Deadline: March 1, 2015

2) Rural Health Immersion Trip: Aug. 4-16, 2015

Go beyond the typical short-term service trip experience and participate in AMOS' twelve-day Rural Health Immersion trip this coming summer! This trip is especially geared to be an immersion experience for students, individuals, and others who can't take a whole summer to travel, but who want to help improve the health of communities in need and are interested in learning more about public health.

Participants will work within a team of like-minded individuals alongside AMOS staff and community leaders to lead educational workshops for all ages, and to conduct surveys, and to perform tests to determine the nutritional status of children and pregnant mothers.

Application Deadline: April 1, 2015

For more information on the Rural Health Immersion trip please visit us online, or contact us at

"Different from other short term mission trips I've been on, this experience provided a deeper look at the culture of Nicaragua and the needs in rural communities like El Socorro. Its humbling and encouraging to know that the work we did during our week there did not begin with us and certainly will not end with us."
- Jessica Soleyn, 2014 Rural Health Immersion Volunteer
