Connected Educator Month - the final week!

Join us for the last sessions in October

A look back at a busy week

The penultimate week of Connected Educator Month NZ-Aotearoa was chock full of some wonderful sessions, generously shared by organisations and individuals right across New Zealand and beyond. Among the many events, we kicked off a second Book Group with Ewan McIntosh, explored leadership, te reo Māori, Pasifika education and digital literacies, and unpacked creative learning. We plunged into a host of Twitter chats, followed two EduCamps in Nelson and Dunedin ...and published an infographic of our ‘halftime scores. Phew!
  • Watch sessions again from our Archives: We are curating as many online events as we can so educators can rewind the learning. Let us know if your session should be there.
  • Share your feedback: We are nearly at the end of the month and we’d love to hear how it’s gone for you so far.

...and don't forget the global events!

Taking part in Connected Educator Month? Showcase your learning

At least 235 people have already claimed their digital open badges - He Tohu Oranga - for participation in Connected Educator Month NZ-Aotearoa in this first year, and are showcasing them on their blogs, websites and profile pages.

Whether you are learning to use digital technologies for the first time using the Starter Kete, championing connected professional learning in your school, kura or early childhood service, or leading events in the calendar, we want to recognise your contribution to Connected Educator Month.

Browse the badges, check the criteria and showcase your learning.

This week's featured Connected Educators

This week, we’re giving pats on the back to two educators who have shared their thinking about how connected practices are part of their learning. Check out their blogs and connect with them on Twitter:

Tetli Carey (@tetlicarey), based in Queenstown, shared a video reflection of how her professional practice is beginning to evolve as she sets out on a new digital learning journey.

Mike Boon (@boonman), blogging as part of the Christchurch Connected Educators special event, wrote We are beings of connection, capturing how he weaves online networks into his professional practice.
