Saturday, Mike James' Next Level faced off against the Vancouver Volcanoes in game one of the weekend. NBA Summer League contestant Mike James led team Next Level, putting up 57 points and 14 rebounds. James has averaged 51 points for Next Level this season. The Volcanoes led the first half, but were unable to keep their lead, falling to Next Level 142 - 139.
All Star Day took place on Saturday, featuring a 3 point contest, a slam dunk contest, and a community game. Dan Feest won the three point contest, competing against Mike James, Tyrone White Jr., Richard Townsend-Gant and NBA star Fred Jones. Kevan West took home the title of slam dunk champion, after impressing the panel of judges and the crowd. The community game featured Pro-Am Commissioner Noah Kone, Coach Steve Garrity, KPTV's Anthony Congi, and NBA star Fred Jones, among many other talented community members and Pro-Am athletes. The final score was Portland Pro-Am All Star 38, to Portland Pro-Am 37.
The final game Saturday was Terrence Jones' Team Takeover versus Terrence Ross' Huskies. Player of the Week Tyrone White Jr. led the Huskies once again, scoring 47 points and 9 rebounds. Terrell Mack returned to the Pro-Am, with a 40 point, 12 rebound game. Team Takeover took the win in the final game Saturday, with a final score of 111 - 102.
Sunday's first game tipped off at 1 PM, with the Soldiers facing off against team Next Level. Mike James scored 33 for Next Level, while Laron Daniels scored 38 for the Soldiers, shooting at 62% from the field. Laron was accompanied by Shawn Malloy, who scored 26 points. The Soldiers took home their sixth win of the season, with a final score of 151 - 131.
The Huskies took on the Volcanoes for game two on Sunday. 3 point contest winner Dan Feest led the Volcanoes with 32 points and 11 rebounds, also scoring 8 three-pointers. All six players for the Volcanoes scored in double digits, leading the Volcanoes to a 142 - 128 victory.
The final game of the weekend featured Team Takeover and Team Green. Terrell Mack stepped up for Team Takeover, scoring 50 points and 12 rebounds. Team Green's Nick Green had an impressive double-double, with 45 points and 24 rebounds. Team Green took their 7th victory, with a score of 144 - 135, putting them at the top of the leaderboard in team standings.
Multnomah University: Home of the
Portland Pro-Am
This summer, Multnomah University has been the home of the Portland Pro-Am. But during the academic year, Multnomah University partakes in their own array of athletics, including basketball, soccer, cross country, golf, volleyball and track and field. This summer, Multnomah became a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Cascade Collegiate Conference. Over 60,000 students compete in NAIA each year, and now Multnomah University students can be added to that list. In recent years, Multnomah has added various sports to their program, and their athletic department has grown tremendously.
"A lot has been happening at Multnomah the last couple months. We are starting the school year as members of the NAIA and Cascade Conference. The Portland Pro-Am that we have been hosting this summer is starting to wind down and we are raising funds for our new weight facility. Come catch the excitement at Multnomah University" said Athletic Director Lois Vos.
Multnomah University's athletic staff have also played a huge part in the Portland Pro-Am this summer. The Pro-Am has had help from athletic director Lois Vos, girl's basketball head coach Tim Bieri, as well as men's basketball coaches Curt Bickley, Austin Hodges and Mike Woodward.

Portland Pro-Am Playoffs
After a summer of high intensity basketball, Portland Pro-Am will be hosting a playoff weekend to see which team takes all. Friday evening, August 21st marks the beginning of the playoff weekend.
Currently, Team Green holds the number one spot in the standings, with a record of 7 - 2. The Vancouver Volcanoes are sitting in a close second, with 7 wins and 3 losses. Sitting in third place is the Beaverton Soldiers, with a 6 - 3 record.
"It's been a great year and now we will see who really wants it," Commissioner of the Portland Pro-Am Noah Kone stated. "We have some players who make a real difference in each teams win, loss columns like EJ Singler, Jordan Railey, Nick Green, Bobby Evans who have all been stars of the week, look for them as well as guys like Tyrone White and Germain Jordan both players of the week this season, to make a real impact for their teams."
Playoff weekend will kick off on Friday at 7 PM, with a play in game featuring the #4 and #5 seeded teams. Saturday's playoff games will take place at 4 PM and 6 PM on August 22nd, and 2015 Portland Pro-Am Championship game will be at 5 PM on Sunday, where the championship trophy will be handed out to the Pro-Am Champions.
