Chehales Tapscott
NBA D-League Maine Red Claws

Former IBL players 6'6" F Chehales Tapscott (pictured above) and 6'6" F Joevan Catron are the most recent alumni to be drafted in the NBA Development League, but IBL players have had stints in the NBADL for many years.

Other IBL players who spent time playing or in NBADL tryouts and training camps includes: 6'3" Darren Cooper, 6'3" G Josh Tarver, 6'10" C Bryson McKenzie, 6'10" F Evan Matteson, 6'2" G Ryan Diggs, 5'11" G Rico Wilkins, and 6'9" F Jared Cunningham.

Numerous IBL players are continuing their careers overseas

After every International Basketball League season, players sign on elsewhere to continue their playing careers as they develop, and add to their time spent in the IBL. 

The roads and paths in which IBL alumni take can vary across the globe once they wrap up a season in the IBL, but with each new opportunity an alum takes, is a great experience both playing wise and personally. Whether it be the NBA Development League, or the bj-League, IBL players frequently find playing homes domestically and overseas. 

Some of the very best IBL talent over the years have once again signed on to excellent playing opportunities abroad, and below is a list of those players.


Chehales Tapscott - Rockhampton Rockets, QBL

2013 IBL MVP and All Star now 2014 QBL MVP and QBL Men's Champion, Scoring Title and First Team All-Star, check out the highlights, now on to Japan for the fall/winter season with Bambitious Nara. 

Andre Murray - Bambitious Nara, bj-League

2014 IBL MVP and All Star has landed in Japan to play for a familiar coach leading Nara for the first time this season, and will compete against former IBL teammate Lawrence Blackledge. 

Germain Jordan - UMEA BSKT, Sweden

2014 and 2013 IBL Most Improved Player has seen his first pre-season action with UMEA, the spotlight is on the talented Portland native to keep progressing his game overseas this fall/winter. 

Brian Morris - Boncourt, LNA-Switzerland

2014 IBL All-Star returned to the Volcanoes roster this season, putting up a double double every game to get another look going back overseas to where he will attempt to keep his team at the number one spot in the LNA. 

Austin Bragg - Heilos Dumzale, Telemach League, Slovenia

2014 IBL Champion and MVP of the championship game fresh out of college to the pros with the Slam is officially signed in Slovenia with the Helios Suns is currently in Slovenia competing in exhibition games with the Helios Suns of the first division Telemach League where the big man will look to spend the fall/winter season. 

Adam Herman - Plasencia Extremadura LEB Silver, Spain

2014 IBL Rookie of the Year transitioned his game and is departing for Spain shortly for his first play overseas looking to make an impact in the LEB and keep moving up, improving on his impressive game. 

Joe Burton - Landstede Basketbal, Dutch Basketball League

2013 IBL Rookie of the Year came back to the Sabres this season for Coach Becerra but quickly found himself in high demand overseas and has landed in Holland playing for Landstede Basketball. 

Seamus Boxley - Limburg United, Ethias League, Belgium

The talented Seattle athlete went from the Ukraine to the Flight and is now in Belgium for the fall/winter season to put up impressive numbers and help his 7th ranked team move up to the number one spot. 

Cameron McCaffrey - China National Tour

Joining the Volcanoes after his return from Georgia with Batumi, putting up double figures, McCaffrey is currently in China on a tour with high level talented teammates including NBA D-League standout Anthony Mason Jr. 

Avery ScharerKL Dragons, Asean Basketball League (ABL)

On the court with Seattle this IBL season Scharer put up 7.7apg in 48 minutes, now leading the ABL in assists per game at 6.25 as a Dragon. 

Giovonne WoodsAl Shurtah, Iraq D1

A vet in the game with multiple seasons in the IBL, Woods went from the Seattle Flight on a flight all the way to the Middle East now on the court with Al-Shurtah, enjoying culture off the court. 

Porter Troupe - Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu, Romania

This IBL All-Star spent more than three seasons in the league and stays ballin' overseas, currently in Romania back with the Energia Rovinari Eurochallenge team for the fall/winter season he continues to put up buckets. 

Lawrence Blackledge - Iwate Big Bulls, bj-League

Being quoted as getting his start in the pros with the IBL, this 70" wing spanned talent is always good for a few highlights when he is on the court, now in his 5th season in the bj-League, third with the Big Bulls, where they lost a heart-breaker last season in the championship. 

Wayne Marshall - Yokohama B-Corsairs, bj-League

Taking full advantage of his experience and exposure in the IBL, the big man from Temple is now in his fifth year in the bj-League competing with the B-Corsairs again this season they will look to place higher than 8th from last season.


Garrett Sim - Crailsheim Merlins, BBL Germany

Returning from Germany Pro-A and his time with Jena , Sim was missed this season from his 15+ppg 2013 performance with the Volcanoes , and after taking time for his body to heal he is back, moving up in the game with the Merlins in the BBL. 

Joe WolfingerTokyo Excellence, NBDL, Japan

The former Chinook, 7'1" Big Man Wolfinger, returns to Japan this fall for a repeat to take the Championship again for Tokyo in this development league with help from translators to understand his coaches 

Michael DutyAvila, Spain LEB Silver

Based in Central Spain, the Obila team competes as a member of the Spanish Basketball League's third-tier Silver division where last season Duty averaged 11ppg, 5rpg scoring in double figures 16 times. 


IBL stars take part in Seattle Pro-Am

IBL players and coaches once again embarked on the annual Seattle Pro Am hosted by Los Angeles Clippers guard and Seattle native Jamal Crawford, and showcased their talents in front of energetic fans throughout the event. Below is a list of those who participated:
