AEBG UPDATE

The SDCE AEBG Committee consisting of deans, program chairs and faculty provided their program priorities to be funded with SDCE’s portion of the Year 3 allocation. A budget will be created from the activities the committee provided. The requested Year 3 activities outnumbered the allocation by $1,694,914. The final plan will be approved by the consortium and submitted to the state in August 2017.

The San Diego Adult Education Regional Consortium held a public meeting on June 7 at ECC where the Board approved the 3 Year Plan (2015-18) update and revisions, not to be confused with the above mentioned Year 3 plan (2017-18). Furthermore, the consortium approved the 2017-18 scope of work for the SDAERC Director position that is contracted annually. The announcement for a SDAERC Director was disseminated directly after the public meeting, resumes will be reviewed in June and the position will be filled in July 2017.

July will be filled with transition as the San Diego Adult Education Regional Consortium has given a warm farewell to Marc Guttoso, the administrative representative for SDUSD K-12 Adult school. Marc gained employment outside of SDUSD, therefore will be replaced on the Board as of July 1, 2017.
