A Course in Miracles Quotes

"Where God is, there are you."

"Essentially, all healing is the release from fear."

" The journey to God is merely the reawakening of the knowledge of where you are always and what you are forever. It is a journey without distance to a goal that has never changed."

Full Radiance

The front of the card says, Our purpose is to flower, to become the full radiance of our inner being. I look at it all the time, but what does that mean? What would it look like if you flowered? What would your inner radiance exposed and on parade look like? Ever think about that? The words are beautiful and inspiring, but bringing the imagery into practical spirituality, how will that actually happen and how will you know when it does?

If we are all aspects of God, or shards of divine life force energy that are having separate experiences, then really anything you do or are is another possible expression of God, neither good nor bad. But there is a difference in being an expression and being in the full radiance of your expression, right?

Follow me with a line of thinking for a minute, ok? You know how every religion says that God is love? Well, what if they are all right, the vibration of the living life force energy of the universe is love? Unconditional, accepting love. And you are an aspect of that?

Full Radiance
...continued from above.

Yes, you are alive. So where would that living piece of divinity reside in you if it indeed existed as love? Where? In your heart? Love, in your heart? Ok, not a new concept, but stay with me. The pulsing, living vibration of love holds residence in your heart energy. So, it would follow that if you followed your heart, you would be expressing your divinity, right? Indeed. If you listened to the passion of your inner promptings and longings (heart, not loins, stay with me) they would guide you right into the bull’s eye of your greatest desires. In other words, your inner desires are actually the promptings of God to become what you most want to be. Beautiful. How many people do that? Usually only ones who have a terminal illness and feel they have nothing left to lose.

Why? What do you protect more than life? What do you hide behind or retreat into? What do you chamber off and lock up? What do you selectively allow others to visit and only when you are up to it? And mostly, what do you believe is your greatest weakness? Your heart. That sappy, willy nilly, do gooder, always get taken advantage of, wear it on a sleeve and have it knocked off, stomped on and kicked around ol’ heart. Houston, we have a problem. So God lives in this place that is weak? What? What kind of God is that? No wonder we have trouble being that radiant full inner being thing. Serious conflict.

Flowering means opening the heart. Letting God out. Always, forever, non-exclusively, genuinely, without fear. Open the heart and let what most wants out~ out. Who do you want to be? What do you want to do? Where do you want to go? Who do you want to take along? How do you want to live your life? Let the heart lead and let the brain sit in the back seat for awhile. No shouldas, couldas or wouldas. Only passions of the heart. Maybe it has been closed and quiet so long, you can’t even feel the urges anymore. Start somewhere. Open communication with the heart. Spend time allowing space to hear it. Take a baby step. Or if you already know, take a papa step! But flower. You owe it to the creator of the universe who said, You are me and I am you. So how can you fail? You are God, how do you want to express God? Dim and puny or brilliant and radiant? Let your heart take you to the full radiance of your inner being. Feel yourself glowing from within, see the light come out of your eyes, your heart is not weak, it holds the key to your most powerful self. Unlock it, fertilize it, water it and let it flower!!

Spiritual Vision Quest

You may have been hearing about this Spiritual Vision Quest program, seeing pictures and wondering, what the heck it is! This program is a venue for creating mastery in your life, for assigning spirit as captain and being held accountable for that. What does that look like in practical terms? It means you live your life feeling more in control of your choices~ to be happy and peaceful, no matter what external circumstances arise. It means you know how to make choices based on guidance for your highest good, you love what you are doing and how you do it, you bring light and love into everything you are. You become a lighthouse in a dim world. You employ the tools you have learned to manage your emotions, your out of control mind and your ever expanding ego. You find balance and through balance are capable of making better decisions for yourself.

In essence, you bring joy into your life and not precariously, but consciously and consistently. This program is not for everyone, but if you are ready to make a powerful commitment to your spiritual journey, the Spiritual Vision Quest awaits. The next 18-month program begins this August.

-Florence Scovel Shinn

-Maya Pignolet (12 yrs old)

"Never, ever believe you are not beautiful…because you are!"
-Marilyn Monroe

"Everyone is a genius, but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree it will live its whole life thinking it is stupid."
-Albert Einstein

Processing Sorrow

Sorrow is a powerful emotion and often only time can heal the wounds that sorrow creates. No one can step in and remove the sorrow from your heart, even though loved ones try so hard to help carry the burden. Each person must process their own sorrow in their own way. One way to help channel this lingering heavy energy is to process it creatively, to find a venue for the sorrow. It doesn’t have to simply drip out of you drop by drop, hour by hour, you can funnel it into something physical and expend it much faster.

Some of the ways I have seen people process their grief are through painting, writing a poem, letting the emotions come out in a song or through singing, dancing or movement with sorrow leading, composing a photograph or collage with someone special in mind. You do not need to house grief, love does not ask you to sacrifice, ever. A few years ago my dear friend, Ann lost her husband and daughter in a plane crash and I had nowhere to channel my overwhelming grief for her loss. But that night sitting at my art table, a painting emerged and took with it a tremendous amount of my own
sadness. Then last week, when Chad Wade, friend, client, like a son to me, also passed in a plane wreck, I turned right away to my table. What is important is the release, so don’t think about the final result, only about channeling sorrow from your heart.
