It's been a while but we have some updates for you.
OUR ATELIER IS OPEN
It’s been a while but I hope you’re well. We’ve been busy during the last 18 months and here’s a snapshot of three activities.
We have had the atelier redecorated and would love to welcome you back. We are blending working from home and the office probably like many of you. We have some dates available for appointments and if you plan to visit please email Dulcie: email@example.com. We have managed to source our wonderfully block coloured fabrics (post Brexit) from a UK supplier which means that our prices have remained the same as in 2019. We look forward to seeing you soon!
A NEW BOOK
Some of you will have seen from social media that I have co-authored a book with Jane Oremosu, a client and now business partner. Jane and I established I-Cubed Group Ltd in September 2020 with the purpose of helping companies navigate their Inclusion and Equity agenda. A year on, we have seen our global clients struggle with the language of race. My Little Black Book: A Blacktionary of words and phraseswas launched on Mon 23 Oct 2021 with the BBC. The pocket sized book is a contemporary dictionary, a global lexicon, that includes words that reflect today’s world. The book's purpose is to help people communicate with confidence to demonstrate inclusion. It is for everyone, people who are entering the workplace and finding their identity, and it’s also for people who manage teams, bombarded with ever evolving definitions, neat phrases that limit their meaning. You can buy and download the book for £3.99 or purchase a hard copy for £5.99.
Some of you may not be aware that we also offer a service where we re-design and tweak pre-loved items of clothing to give them a new purpose and lease of life. How many of you have looked in your wardrobe and thought about how much you loved an item of clothing that you just can't bring yourself to give away?
Recently, Ruth visited us to repurpose a gown into a new ball gown for an event approaching. She wanted to be sustainable and create something special without having to buy a new item for a one-time event. Our seamstress Lisbet has just finished tailoring the skirt into a sleek tapered shape with a statement split. Once Ruth is happy we will dye the dress black! Here is a preview of Lisbet and Ruth working together to finalise the design.
If you too would like to repurpose a pre-loved item of clothing, get in touch today and start your story. Visit the link below to find out more info and read another client's story.
