TABLE FOR TWO is one of the most well-known NPOs in Japan, founded with a mission to provide healthy school meals and food education to children in need. ONIGIRI ACTION is our annual social action program held to celebrate the United Nation’s World Food Day. The goal of the program is to provide 1 million meals to hungry children in countries around the world, including the US where roughly 50 million Americans (including 16.7 million children) live in food-insecure households.

As an NPO with roots in Japan, the campaign highlights the making of onigiri. Onigiri -or "rice balls"- are simple comfort food made with love for someone special. During the campaign, TFT supporters post onigiri-related photos to our websites and social media accounts using #OnigiriAction. For each photo posted, our sponsors will donate 5 school meals to children in need.
The 2018 ONIGIRI ACTION campaign resulted in 201,023 photos being posted from around the world. These photos gained 45 million "Likes", and helped to provide over 1 million warm school meals. Over 4,500 children were able to eat nutritiously for an entire school year.
Please email us if you need more information about the ONIGIRI ACTION Campaign! We are happy to answer any questions you might have about the ways you can help to feed those in need! If you know of anyone who might be interested, please share the information. I would greatly appreciate it!

Warmest Regards,
