Vision is not enough – it must be combined with venture.
It is not enough to stare up the steps, we must step up the stairs.

There are a very limited number of participants.
Reserve your spot now.

Join me for a guided Independent study retreat February 8-13. Spend a week honing your voice and clarifying your vision as an artist in a thoughtfully supportive environment.

You may choose to participate in daily thought topics, critique sessions, and design exercises with your classmates, or not. Lyric will be with you the entire time to give direction, feedback, and lots and lots of individual guidance and encouragement.

What you work on during this week is entirely up to you. Here are a few possibilities, but there are infinite options. Worksheets and a quick call with Lyric before the retreat will help you set goals for the week.

Work on a meaningful piece of art
Work on a series
Work through a series of design exercises
Work through ideas you've been wanting to explore
Work to understand specific Design Principles

I invite you to join me in developing your own unique voice as an artist!

If you are ready to spend time developing your voice as an artist, really truly examining your goals, your processes, and your vision, join me.

Do it all while in the comfort of your own studio, working on your OWN current work. With me, and other artists supporting you and encouraging you every step of the way.

Registration ends Saturday night.
Sign up now before it's too late.

Think of how we first learn to speak. We listen and begin to understand. We repeat the sounds and then we repeat words. It takes time, but eventually we formulate our own thoughts and express them with words formed into sentences.

Translate this to the visual language. We see the art that calls to us. Art that calls to us even if we do not fully understand it. We learn techniques - often copying the work of those we admire. (This is a perfectly valid and often necessary part of the learning process.) We develop skills and eventually, we are able to express the message we wish to convey.

In order to be clearly understood, we need to have spent the time and effort it takes to develop the skills to speak the language that most effectively communicates our message.
In other words
and you will find your voice
