Attention all students and professionals! 
Come show your SHPE pride as you socialize around a campfire with chapters from Arkansas, Texas, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Louisiana. It will be a day filled with networking, leadership, and an enjoyment of the great outdoors. 

Please come meet your familia throughout the region.
Students are needing mentors, connections, and to hear from Professionals just like you!
Tents and other camping equipment is highly recommended.

“Las Llaves del Éxito” (“The Keys to Success”) is a special program offered by the Dallas County Community College District that consists of two one-day events held each year.

The fall program, Las Llaves del Éxito: A College Fair for Families, is designed to give students and their parents the key to their success: information about how to navigate the system so they can attend a college or university.

SHPE DFW hosts 1-2 workshops to introduce the kids to Engineering through STEM activities and presentations. If you're interested in running, assisting, or supporting a workshop please email

For NEW Student Members - Great way to recruit or get a promising Computing-related major student involved and to National Conference for FREE!


SHPE and GitHub have partnered to bring 50 NEW student members in computing-related majors to SHPE Conference 2015.

To keep this fun and exciting, we worked with various student leaders to create SHPECodes, a new year round program for SHPE members in computing.  We are kicking off this program with the SHPECodes Contest. Any student chapter can participate by doing the following:

  1. Take a picture with the SHPE logo and the head of the Computer Science Department at your college, then share it via Facebook and Twitter using the #tech #code and #shpe2015 hashtags
  2. Recruit at least two new paid SHPE members in computing fields and submit their resumes via the form below AND via SHPEConnect
  3. In the form below, answer this question: How would your chapter use $500 to attract new members in computing fields?
  4. Promote the Cool Careers at GitHub Hangout via Facebook and Twitter using the #tech #code and #shpe2015 hashtags
  5. Complete 1-4 by October 15, 2015

Winners will be announced during the SHPECodes Twitter party on October 22, 8pm est/5pm pst, using the #tech #code and #shpe2015 hashtags.

YouthSpark Live!
Microsoft/The Confidence Group

World class technology giant, Microsoft, joined The Confidence Group in Dallas, Texas to host YouthSpark Live, a special day-long event where more than 1,500 students in the DFW area got to learn about science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields - and had fun doing it! 
The Irving Convention Center housed technical trainings, educations sessions, empowerment seminars, gaming sessions, music and entertainment, and giveaways.

Our Regional Vice President and DFW Community Outreach Director, Brianne C. Martin, attended and represented SHPE as a panelist on an educational STEM panel along side fellow STEM professionals and supporters - including SWE's Vice President.
