Dear Neuro Challenge Friends,

Tis the Season…to give and to get. It’s always fun getting gifts during the holidays, but I find giving gifts to be more gratifying. That is why the gifts we offer from Neuro Challenge to the Parkinson’s community warms my heart well beyond the holidays. I am grateful for the opportunity to support people fighting the disease. Our care advising and support groups are a salvation for many. This disease can last years and it’s only natural for feelings on hopelessness to set in; however, through the support we provide people fighting Parkinson’s we are giving the gift of hope and courage to fight another day, another hour, another minute.

In my role I get to engage in some profound conversations with Parkinson fighters. I recently met a 62-year-old man who shared how he is coping with the anger he has felt since being diagnosed. He talked about his tough days, his desire to stay in bed all day, his fortitude to not tell anyone because he felt with the diagnosis, he was losing his place in the world. How is he coping with his anger? He exercises, a lot! I’m sure you’ve heard the benefits of exercise for people with Parkinson’s, but this man found a way out of the darkness by doing a lot of physical exercise. He found hope again by throwing himself into the disease instead of ignoring the disease. The gift of hope is the best gift you can give.

At Neuro Challenge we depend on YOU to keep giving the gift of hope to people fighting Parkinson’s. The holiday season is a time when many make charitable contributions. Your holiday giving helps to brighten the season for many who need support and connection. Our programs are offered at no charge to people with Parkinson’s and their care partners, and that is because of your generous support. In your end of year giving, we hope you are compelled to give to Neuro Challenge, to give the gift of hope.
Your gift between $5 and $500 will be doubled when you give today through the Louis and Gloria Flanzer Philanthropic Trust. Click here to make your donation. Neuro Challenge is so grateful to have the opportunity to double our impact on the Parkinson’s community through this special matching gift program.

Whether you celebrate Hanukkah, Christmas, or Kwanza the staff and board of directors at Neuro Challenge Foundation wish you a peaceful holiday season.

Thank you for your continued support, trust, and confidence in Neuro Challenge Foundation. We look forward to serving you and your family through the holidays and into the new year!

Yours in the journey,

Neuro Challenge is so grateful for all that Pete and Kelly Gaylord have done for the Parkinson's community!  Pete was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2005 and at that time he decided to meet Parkinson's head on. Pete and Kelly have facilitated support groups, taught exercise classes, made us laugh and presented their "10 best tips for Living with PD" to the community many times. Last week Pete tied for 3rd place out of 12 performers in the finals of “1st Comic Standing: A Comedy Competition"! Great Job, Pete! Click here to see the the video of his performance.
