IntrepidArts: January in Memphis
Cultural vitamins for brain and soul
New Exhibit at Brooks
Dr. Rosamund Garrett has created a fantastic exhibit by mining the museum's permanent collection. Power and Absence: Women in Europe 1500-1680 is a smartly conceived and spendidly executed assemblage of a variety of works that point to women depicted in various activities and situations as well as female painters.  Here is a link to a gallery talk she gave recently on the exhibit.  NOTA BENE: The Brooks is closed until January 11 but the exhibit will be up thereafter for viewing in person.
