Travel and Mobility Special

June 2021

City of Edinburgh Council have began the latest phase of their Leith Connections consultation, following on from consultation work carried out earlier in the year.

Leith Connections consists of two projects being planned by the Council:

(1) A new segregated cycle lane between Ocean Terminal and Foot of the Walk via Great Junction Street
(2) Creating a Leith Low Traffic Neighbourhood area

These are significant proposed changes to how we move around Leith, and lots of community conversation is taking place.

However, it is really important that we make sure our voices are heard whether for or against the proposals, in whole or in part.

Click here to read all about the proposals.

Have your say…

There are three key ways to have your voice heard;

If the two public meetings are sold out please email Anna McRobbie to let her know you would like to attend a meeting but they are sold out, as we have been told they may be able to organise additional meetings if there is sufficient interest.

Spread the word…

The proposals will have a significant impact upon, although opinion is divided as to whether this is for the better or worse! But, it is really important that as many people as possible have their voices heard.

So please, do what you can to raise awareness about the consultation.

Please think about emailing your contacts or posting on social media. There are posts on our website, Twitter and Facebook that you may wish to share.

But, a word of caution, the Council are unlikely to view, record or consider comments etc made on social media as part of this consultation so please do make sure you also submit comments etc via the online survey to make sure they are recorded and considered.
