Viewpoint - Winter 2013: the newsletter for GDST parents and families
GDST (Girls' Day School Trust)
Welcome to the latest edition of Viewpoint, our e-newsletter for parents of pupils in Girls' Day School Trust (GDST) schools.

Christmas is just around the corner, but there’s no let-up in activities in our busy GDST schools and academies.

Plans are taking shape for a GDST-wide quiz and the GDST Young Musician and Young Vocalist of the Year events. The recent GDST Art Exhibition was a triumph for all those involved, as was September’s Young Leaders Conference. Also in this Viewpoint, we’re highlighting the importance of outdoor learning in our Junior Schools.

On a personal note, I am honoured to have been invited to be chair of the judges for the Baileys Women’s Prize for Fiction. By happy coincidence, two of my fellow judges (alongside Caitlin Moran and Denise Mina) are GDST alumnae Mary Beard (Shrewsbury) and Sophie Raworth (Putney)!
