LunarG Donates Vulkan SDK to Khronos to promote a unified Vulkan ecosystem and enable wider collaboration on SDK development

New Look for the Vulkan SDK Download Site

LunarG has opened its desktop SDK build and packaging scripts to the Khronos working group and rebranded as the Vulkan SDK. The goals are to:
  • Remove possible confusion from having  a third-party name associated with the Vulkan SDK,
  • Create transparency to enable collaboration and create a Khronos Vulkan SDK,
  • Encourage one Vulkan SDK to avoid fragmentation in the ecosystem.

Vulkan SC Standards Initiative is now a Working Group

The Vulkan Safety Critical Working Group a new effort from Khronos to enable safety critical industries to take advantage of the advancements in graphics and compute in a manner compatible with the highest safety integrity levels. Interested companies are invited to participate in the Working Group’s goal. To learn more, visit or contact

Join Khronos at the Embedded Vision Summit Workshop

Thursday, May 23, 2019 9am-5pm

The workshop will focus on machine learning and computer vision and introduce attendees to key Khronos open standards, including OpenVX, NNEF, OpenCL and SYCL and show how these standards can be applied to their projects and products.
