Developers: Your Help is Needed with a Texture Compression in Games Survey


Arm LogoArm has kicked-off a formal project within engineering to understand what developers need in order to increase adoption of ASTC. Adaptive Scalable Texture Compression (ASTC) is fundamental for mobile devices or platforms with resource constraints. The findings will be shared with Khronos and its members to help understand what matters to developers.
 
The survey takes less than 5 minutes to complete and will remain open until July 23rd: Texture Compression in Games Survey

Uber's vis.gl brings glTF to geospatial data visualization

 
Uber SimulationIn 2016, the Uber Visualization team released an open source version of deck.gl and luma.gl, two Khronos Group WebGL-powered frameworks for visualizing and exploring huge geospatial data sets on maps. Since then, the technology has flourished into a full-fledged suite of over a dozen open source WebGL and GPGPU data visualization libraries and tools, known collectively as vis.gl. loaders.gl, the newest addition to the vis.gl family, adds support for loading and rendering glTF assets across the tech stack.
