ANARI 1.0 Provisional API for Scalable Data Visualization Released
 The Khronos® Group announced the release of the ANARI™ 1.0 (Analytic Rendering Interface) provisional open standard API for scalable 3D data visualization. ANARI enables users to build the description of a scene to generate imagery, rather than specifying the details of the rendering process, providing simplified visualization application development and cross-vendor portability to diverse rendering engines, including those using state-of-the-art ray tracing. In addition to the ANARI specification, Khronos has released a sample implementation, starter applications, developer tools and conformance tests into open source - and welcomes community feedback before specification finalization in 2022.

Khronos Releases OpenCL 3.0 Extensions for Neural Network Inferencing and OpenCL/Vulkan Interop
 Following the release of OpenCL™ 3.0 in September 2020, The Khronos Group continues to expand and grow the ecosystem by releasing new extension for neural network inferencing and OpenCL/Vulkan® interoperability. The new extensions include Integer dot product extension, Semaphore extensions, External semaphore extensions, and External memory extensions.

glTF Webinar Video and Presentations Now Available
 The glTF™ Webinar held last week provided excellent information on the progress of glTF, and excellent presentations from DGG, IKEA, Institute for Computer Science and Control, and Esri. Machine Learning Summit
 The Khronos Group held a summit for machine learning practitioners to provide their input on how acceleration standards should evolve to meet their needs. The summit was held over two days with the goal of enabling a range of hardware and software vendors to briefly present what they believe are the key issues and opportunities for machine learning acceleration and interoperability.
Members of the Khronos Group have taken their input and are currently digesting the information and will present findings in the coming weeks.
