Around the Twin Cities
The Minneapolis Institute of Art is now showing Gifts of Japanese and Korean Art from the Mary Griggs Burke Collection through May 8th.

The MacPhail Center for Music Spotlight Series is hosting a program called Taiko Drums to J-Pop, a music sampler of Japanese music old and new on Saturday, April 16th at 8:00pm at Antonello Hall at MacPhail Minneapolis. For more information, visit the event page at MacPhail.

TaikoProject is performing at the Ordway Center for Performing Arts on Saturday, April 23rd from 7:30pm to 9:30pm. For more information and tickets, visit the Ordway website.

JETAAMN Cooking Class
There are still some spots left for the JETAAMN cooking class on Saturday, April 9th. Class begins promptly at 11:00 AM at Kennedy High School in Bloomington, MN (9701 Nicollet Ave S, Bloomington, 55420) and will go until 1:00 PM. This year, participants will be making temaki-sushi Participants of all ages and dietary persuasions are welcome to attend. The class is restricted to the first 20 who register and pay, so please go to the JETAAMN webpage for the event to fill out a registration form and pay the $12 fee for your spot!

JETAAMN April Networking Happy Hour
Come to Toast Wine Bar and Cafe (Heritage Landing Building, 415 North 1st Street, Minneapolis) on Wednesday, April 20th for JETAAMN's April Networking Happy Hour from 5:30pm to 7:00pm (happy hour pricing until 6:00pm). If the weather permits, we'll be outside! Please RSVP on Facebook and we hope to see you April 20th!
WE NEED YOU!  Volunteers Needed for Lantern Lighting Festival

Are you available on the Sunday, the 21st of August and want to help out at one of the most fun and authentic Japanese summer festivals of the Upper Midwest each year?  Then look no further!  We need volunteers to help us work our kakigori (shaved ice) booth during the Lantern Lighting Festival at Como Park....give a few hours, and get free admission to the festival and an awesome JETAAMN t-shirt! A Thousand Journeys, One Home: Asian Pacific Heritage Day at the Minnesota History Center
Included with museum admission at the Minnesota History Center between noon and 4:00pm on Saturday, April 23rd is a festival honoring the heritages of various Asian and Pacific nations with dance and music performances, food demonstrations, and art activities. SPNSCC Seeking Membership Coordinator
Long-time St. Paul-Nagasaki Sister City Committee board member and volunteer Fusako Muro is stepping down as Membership Coordinator. If you would be able to give a few hours per month to help manage SPNSCC's membership, please contact SPNSCC President Jo Ann Blatchley.

Job Opportunity: Program Administrator with Associated Kyoto Program
Associated Kyoto Program (AKP) at Bucknell University is looking for a Program Administrator to coordinate all US-based activities with the Kyoto Center. AKP is a non-profit organization which operates a study abroad program at Doshisha University in Kyoto, Japan.
