December 2021

As Christmas approaches in another haze of uncertainty over which relatives we will or won't be able to spend time with, spare a thought for mission partner families. Some haven't been back to the UK for several years and Omicron has scuppered the travel plans of many others. We've got a few ideas for how you can support mission partner families year round, but especially at this time of year – take a look below. Also scroll down for a book list that you might enjoy if you're hunkered down at home – why not use the time to find out more about God's big mission?

Wishing you a merry Christmas from all at Crosslinks.

Supporting family who're left behind

Mums, dads, siblings, children, grandchildren – when mission partners go overseas, many of their nearest and dearest feel the pain of separation as much as the mission partners themselves. Can you support those left behind?

How will you be spending Christmas this year?

We asked some of our mission partners about Christmas traditions where they are. Have you heard of burning the 'Badnjak' in Serbia? Or eating a 'Julbord' in Sweden? Did you know that our partners in Nigeria will be eating beef for Christmas lunch, whereas in Cuba they'll be having pork and plantain? Find out more Christmas traditions.

Online prayer meetings

Our online prayer meetings take place on Zoom on the third Monday of each month from 7 – 8pm – click here to join. The next one will be on 17 January and Rick and Alanna Creighton will be joining us from Nigeria. They'll tell us a bit about what they do and how we can pray, before we break into smaller groups to pray. On 21 February we'll hear from mission partners in Chile, Matt and Helen Pope. Please join us – the more the merrier!

Give your mission partner a boost

Our mission partners love hearing from you, their supporters. It's not too late to send them a Christmas message using our online card generator. Little things like this remind our mission partners that they're part of a big team and so helps keep them going when things are tough.

Help us help them...

Can you give a gift to Crosslinks this Christmas? We are inspired by the impact our mission partners are having and want to send and sustain more. A donation to Crosslinks will help us support those serving overseas and prepare more men and women for service around the globe.
