The Beauty and the Heart
Kia Ora <<First Name>>,

The ancient Egyptians believed the heart was a person’s source of wisdom and through it a true sense of self was felt. Like many of the healing arts in different cultures around the world they saw the heart as central to a person's holistic wellbeing. Its significance is seen in their embalming rites where the heart was given special care and attention, the only organ that would stay inside the body and was to be weighed by the Goddess Maat.

Today the phrase 'getting to the heart of the matter' is used to learn of something's true source and the same can be said of yourself. Where does your heart lead you and what is it telling you? Many of the indigenous cultures and traditions talk about being heart centred and walking a path of heart; synonymous with living in harmony with the Earth and following the laws of nature.

The Heart of the Lion
The Sun, also associated with the heart moved into the royal sign of Leo on the 23rd July. This zodiacal sign is known for its characteristic warmth and generosity of spirit and its positive, energising effects can be felt throughout July and August. Regulus, which is the brightest star in the constellation Leo is known as the ‘heart of the lion’ and has given quite a show in the night sky recently, mirroring the theme for this newsletter edition: living in a vibrant, generous and heart centred manner on the great stage of life.

No 47 Kauri is the First Light® tree essence that is linked to the heart chakra and features in our plant profile this month. A balanced expression of the heart chakra manifests as a natural harmonious relationship with life. When one walks in beauty and lives in a heart centred manner, the potential to create change and bring harmony and balance to the Earth as well as make a difference in the lives of others is greatly enhanced.

A Celebration of First Light Flower Essences of New Zealand® in Japan
Minako Hama, our First Light Flower Essences of New Zealand® registered Tutor from Japan was in New Zealand last month. She visited us in Devonport and Tony and I enjoyed the opportunity to celebrate our time together and the connections that have been made in Japan. Minako enjoyed a lesson on using the The Fairy Oracle of the Patupaiarehe© cards and selected a card that showed her what lay ahead for her future.

Medicine Woman Rainbow Warrior of Peace©

The Medicine Woman Centre for Shamanic Studies® launched the first waka of those journeying on the path of the master shaman, The Medicine Woman Rainbow Warrior of Peace© in May. This is a 2 year life transforming journey focussed on the dieting of First Light® essences from the Orchid, Fern Ally and Sacred Mountain Grass collections. The objective of this journey is to transform the shaman into the enlightened master shaman, The Medicine Woman Rainbow Warrior of Peace©.

The Path of the Priestess and Priest - The Sacred Journey Around the Medicine Wheel
Friday 20th - Tuesday 24th November 2015

Tony and I have been busy preparing the 9th Medicine Woman Residential Workshop, Retreat and Annual Gathering at the Tauhara Retreat Centre, which will run over 4 days starting on the evening of Friday 20th and finishing on Tuesday 24th November. We will be celebrating the completion of a very important cycle that prophecies said would be the one when The Goddess would return and with her return the sacred mysteries would be fully restored and made available once again. Of the four days you will be journeying into the magical realm of personal healing, the path of the healer, the path of the shaman, the path of the warrior magician who is Nga Tama a Rangi and the path of the priestess and priest. This is the first time the teachings of this nature have been given out publicly.

Enrolments are now open and spaces are limited so bookings are essential.

We look forward to meeting and linking in with you this year in what will become a profoundly significant event that has been long-anticipated in the spiritual and magical realms.

With much aroha,

Franchelle Ofsoské-Wyber and Tony Wyber

Kawaka Wednesday Celebration
Minako Hama is a First Light Flower Essences of New Zealand® Registered Practitioner and Tutor. She runs a very busy practice in Tokyo and teaches workshops in Tokyo and Kobe using First Light® manuals which have been translated into Japanese. One of the highlights of her teaching program each year is arranging for a group of Japanese students to come to New Zealand to attend a special workshop with Franchelle Ofsoské-Wyber and Tony Wyber.

During a flying visit to New Zealand in June, Minako was guest of honour at Kawaka Wednesday. Minako shared her experiences of running a clinic and working with First Light® essences, Astrology and Aromatherapy. It was fascinating to hear that people in Japan are very familiar with flower essences.

Minako recalled that when she first discovered First Light® essences, she immediately knew they were different and was hooked on them! Within a month she was on a plane and over here to meet Franchelle and Tony. Minako is totally dedicated to her work with First Light® flower essences and is a gracious and dedicated ambassador for them in Japan.

Sensori Saturday at Wintec in Hamilton

First Light Flower Essences of New Zealand® were invited to present two workshops at Wintec in Hamilton. Lesley Dawn Lydford-King presented two workshops on behalf of First Light® to Early Childhood Education students at Wintec, Hamilton on June 27. ‘Sensori Saturday’ is an experiential education day focused on outdoor environments and the benefits of nature for children, exploring ways to educate children under 5 about New Zealand native flora and fauna.

Lesley shared information about the unique qualities of the native flowers, ferns, trees and forests of Aotearoa and the valuable role that the First Light® essences play in supporting young children to maintain their natural curiosity and love of nature.

She introduced the students to the first five families of First Light® essences through Nature’s Healing Matrix©. Question time was animated and the students were eager to select a flower card from essences No’s 1-36. There was much excitement about making up a treatment bottle to take home.

We would love to hear from you!

A Happy Aviary Part 2
Most animals domesticated by humans live within confined spaces and have their natural movement restricted by fencing or caging. Birds are no exception. Many bird species are kept for their colourful plumage, their song, acrobatics, ability to mimic noises, as breeding stock and for the pleasure people gain from having exotic birds in their back yard.
