A Shining Light
Kia ora <<First Name>>,

The light of the Aries full moon on 27th March signaled Easter and marked the first of three sequential full moon festivals - Easter, Wesak and Goodwill. They have been called the ‘Three Great Festivals of Invocation’ and are times when the potential for unity across humanity is greatly enhanced. One can consciously harness the powerful lunar energies of this time by working the corresponding First Light flower essences for the sign of each full moon.

On the Taurus (April 26th) full moon festival – 'Wesak', No.4 Marlborough Rock Daisy, No.5 Native Passionfruit and No.6 New Zealand Jasmine can be worked with very powerfully to assist things to manifest more fully into your life.
Motivation and Confidence
To restore a sense of motivation and confidence this month, No.3 Cook Strait Groundsel is a particularly invigorating essence. This yellow-flowered shrub is an ‘Aries’ essence. It is well suited to April’s energy and is often found thriving under the hot sun in poor clay soils. It mirrors our own inner fire that sustains us through the many challenges in life. See our Plant Profile section for more information on this flower.

Our first workshop in Devonport brought a wonderful turnout of students, practitioners, elders and many who were attending a
First Light Flower Essences of New Zealand® Workshop for the first time. We enjoyed a celebration with Tony who blew out the candles of his surprise birthday cake on the last day of the workshop.
We now have practitioner guidelines which are useful for anyone who has attended a workshop or successfully gained either a Certificate or Diploma of New Zealand Native Flower Essence Therapy. They can be downloaded through the First Light Flower Essences Student Forum which you can join via your account on facebook.

Medicine Woman Shamanic Apprenticeship is about to begin!
The first wave of students who enrolled in The Medicine Woman Healers Apprenticeship have completed their program. Congratulations to each and every one of the apprentices who have undertaken the Healers Apprenticeship and engaged in the age-old tradition of working with the mysteries of nature to learn, grow and develop at all levels of the being. The invitation now exists to move deeper into the mysteries by working with the 24 rites of passage of the Shaman and the First Light Flower Essences Shamanic Collection. The Medicine Woman Shamanic Apprenticeship begins 10th April 2013.

Medicine Woman Plant Magic Skin Care©
The Medicine Woman store continues to grow and Medicine Woman Plant Magic Skin Care© products are now available for purchase. They are a divinely inspired range of products crafted in partnership with nature. Their magic comes as a gift from the Patupaiarehe, fairy people of Aotearoa who ask humanity the question ‘do you need to weave a little magic into your life?’. See below for more information.

May magic continue to enter into your lives and the lives of people you work with.

With much aroha,

Franchelle Ofsoské-Wyber and Tony Wyber

A Medicine Woman Healers Apprenticeship Experience ~
Overcoming Illness with Wheki - Andrina Eyles

"Respiratory illness has been with me since I was a small child and each year I am acutely aware of winter and my lungs. During the journey with No 88 Wheki, I was shown all of the aspects of me that were underdeveloped, bringing sickness. As I traveled through a serious influenza virus, I noticed an acute awareness occurring... that this virus did not affect my soul, or my connection to Spirit. I was able to see with clarity what was happening without becoming involved and entangled with it. The whole process was one of being re-calibrated and the old; flushed from my body. There was a point where I realized that I (my soul) needed to take control of what was happening, as I could feel the old sickness (lower mental) fighting to regain control. I spoke directly to Wheki and to my kaitiaki* guardians; I had heard and obeyed - 'Wheki', 'self-care', 'taking responsibility'. I could feel myself being surrounded by Wheki and my kaitiaki. Magically I began a very swift and full recovery."

Andrina Eyles, April 2013

*Linking into the world of the kaitiaki - our sacred protectors and guardians, is a life changing process experienced by those undertaking the Medicine Woman Rite of the Six Moons© program.

Sensing Pain With Kiokio - Mary Lowe

blackbirdNo 93 Kiokio was initiating my Rite of Passage and led me to find a blackbird chirping forlornly beneath a tree on the reserve. I heard the call and, sensing it was ailing, sat close by and held out my hands to offer energy. She hopped eagerly forward and I saw that her face was void of feathers as suppurating wounds crusted her eyes and beak. She responded well to the energy and moved away, but I felt her sadness and her sorry state knowing further assistance was required. Later, upon returning to the reserve, First Light Post Trauma Recovery Essence© calmed the bird enough to enable her capture and placement in a box. On the walk home I reassured her, promising that her story would be told, her own heroes journey, and that by naming her Hercules she might embody that archetype and find the strength to overcome. Sadly she survived just a short while in a bird sanctuary – but perchance the posthumous examination and diagnosis will prevent other birds suffering a similar plight.
A wonderful initiation from Kiokio; a reminder to stay present and open, at all times, to whatever the Spirit directs and herewith, the promise fulfilled, her story is told.

Fleas and Flea Management

I have spent some years dealing with the challenging issue of fleas on dogs and cats. Many skin irritations and inflammations are the result of flea bites. The life cycle of the flea can last anywhere from two months to two years. There are four stages - adult flea, egg, larvae and finally the pupal stage. Products on the market today may affect the first three stages, but I am unaware of anything which kills the... Read More
