A Balance In Both Worlds
Kia ora <<First Name>>,

Maintaining balance and equanimity in life are essential steps towards the creation of harmonious relationships between ourselves and others. Creating balance between our work and family, time with self and time with others, business and relaxation, and our inner and outer worlds can be a positive challenge that leads to greater empowerment in our lives. Those who are in the healing or spiritual professions must work hard to maintain balance between their metaphysical and physical lives, where one has 'a foot in both worlds'. It is often not an easy task and the art of the healer is to find equilibrium between the two gracefully and harmoniously.
two worlds
On 16th October the new moon in the sign of Libra offers new opportunities to address the areas of our lives that may need balancing and help us enhance the quality of our relationships.

If we find our lives have been moved out of balance and want to restore harmony quickly and effectively we have nature to come to the rescue. The plants that are contained in the First Light Flower Essences of New Zealand® Crisis Support© are perfectly blended to provide maximum stability and calm during times of emotional stress, upset, crisis or tension. It can be used with any level of stress that may emerge and can even be used to provide a 'pick-me-up' when things get 'too much'. Those with families also find Crisis Support© a valuable all-purpose addition to the medicine cabinet at home.

Next month, on the 16th - 22nd November, we will be at the Tauhara Centre in Taupo for the Medicine Woman Healers and Shamanic Residential Retreat and Annual Gathering 2012. We are pleased to let you know we have received confirmation that the sweat lodge has been constructed and is ready for ceremony this year. This purifying ritual will be a first for the Medicine Woman Retreat and many people have expressed interest in attending. Please see information in this newsletter about the option of carpooling to Taupo or offering transport if you are able to.

We hope to see and reconnect with as many of you as we can this year on each of your respective journeys.

With much aroha

Franchelle Ofsosk—ź-Wyber and Tony Wyber

Learning Through the Correspondence Courses - Cynthia Koh
machu picchu

The First Light Flower Essences of New Zealand® correspondence courses are open to those with a personal interest in flower essences and holistic wellbeing and to practicing professionals who wish to further develop their skills and knowledge base. The courses are extremely flexible, allowing you to study them in any order at your own pace, to enroll at anytime and to whichever level you choose – from a one or two day course on one of the Collections, to Certificate or Diploma level.

Cynthia Koh is a First Light student studying the correspondence courses from her home town in Singapore.  Between her studies we found Cynthia enjoying an adventure in the ancient Machu Picchu! Cynthia writes -

"The Living in the hustle and bustle of city life just calls for a good balance. My only weekly escape is to the botanical gardens in Singapore where I can leave my mind at rest and feel with my heart. A dear friend of mine from New Zealand noticed my love for nature and suggested First Light Flower Essences of New Zealand®. I was drawn to it and made an immediate decision to embark on my correspondence course. It not an easy feat as the florals and fauna of Aotearoa are different from my countries native ones but I still manage to make some lovely connections with them as with the local orchids, flowers, tropical plants, trees and seeds here.  The essences are like my teachers, constantly making me more aware of myself and helping me look inward for answers. Teaching me and allowing me to have a more indepth connection with nature.

There is no such thing as separation, we are all part of one consciousness. I am now down to my last 3 papers before I complete the whole course and decided to take  an adventure to Machu Picchu.  Here is my gift for all my First Light classmates - a picture of this magical place.

Love, peace, oneness

Cynthia

Japanese Students Here For Five Days of Study
Japanese Tutor Minako Hama with nine Japanese students arrived from Japan earlier this week and are here for the remainder of the week studying the First Light SEEDS NZNFE 107 & 108 and PLANTS NZNFE 109 & 110 essence courses with Franchelle.  It was their wish to experience the spirit of Aotearoa through going abroad and studying the First Light essences right here in New Zealand. It is quite an intensive experience to undertake five days of continuous study with the First Light essences and the students are enjoying it very much. Shigeki Iritani has been providing his excellent translation skills.

No.77 Clematis

clematis

Plant Essence No. 77 Clematis is the White Light Protection essence. It is the essence of humour, reminding us not to take life too seriously and to see the silliness in the stresses and fears that control many people’s lives. Clematis assists us to become liberated from disempowering situations or people. We feel uplifted, protected and surrounded by white light... Read More

Has Your Pet Lost Its Sense of Humour?

Animals can provide us with hours of entertainment, laughter and love. It is a joy to see them happy and fully expressing their enjoyment of life. Some of them have wonderful senses of humour and if we are able to recognize and appreciate this, then our relationship with them deepens and expands. Sometimes, however, our animal companions, be they large or small, appear quieter than usual Read More

Sensitivity As Strength (#1 of two part series on sensitive people)

sensitivity

Sensitivity is a gift that when handled with care and channelled postively in the life is a powerful and beautiful thing. Being a sensitive individual is quite different to being weak or ineffectual. Our sensitivities are what allow us to sense, understand, and interact with the subtle and not so subtle energies that surround us all in the great sea of energy we are all part of. For some sensitive folks...  Read More

Shining Light Into Family Life

As a parent it can be easy to get caught up in the stressors and challenges of daily family life. Meeting the needs of many in the household can easily wind us up through the matrix of emotions, projections, power plays and repetitive scenarios in the home. At times when life can become all-too-serious, I hear the echoing of Dr Rangimarie Rose Pere’s words: “We are both human and divine. Celebrate both.”   Read More
