Facing Loneliness

A story from DRIME Vancouver

Walking down Granville Street, our group met Lisa. She was sitting on the sidewalk with a cardboard sign. A casual greeting led us into an amiable, deep conversation that lasted forty-five minutes, as we shared a pizza and began to get to know each other.

Prayer in Brazil

Global Prayer Requests

  • For the upcoming staff week, that God would give vision and clarity to the staff as they plan togethter.
  • For all of our DRIME teams in training in Benin, Canada, Chile, Brazil, Mexico, Paraguay and Togo, that they would continue to do effective ministry and recruit leadership and team members to make their ministry sustainable.
  • For all of the people around the world who are seeing the Gospel through the dramas and engaging in conversation with DRIMERs, that God would continue to work in their hearts and move them closer to Him.

Fred Doing Ministry in Vancouver
The DRIME staff, although mostly localized at the Power to Change office in Langley, spreads around the world! We have staff who serve 3-4 days/week and some who serve just a few hours a month. One of those staff who contributes a few hours a month to DRIME is Fred, a DRIMER who has been a team member, leader, mission trip member and leader, and leader of the DRIME Vancouver team.

When we asked Fred about his funniest DRIME memory, this is what he said:

My funniest DRIME memory is perhaps also one of my most embarrassing. In the middle of a drama on the streets, the button on my pants broke off, leaving me to finish the drama (which felt like an eternity) with one hand holding up my pants. Perhaps delusional, I volunteered for Please, the next drama, and barely made it through without leaving my pants around my legs!”

He also shared with us what he has learned through community in DRIME:

“With DRIME, I’ve learned that unhurried time and fun are really important in building community: that in order to connect, people need time together to have conversations, learn from one another and become comfortable — and that building in some fun activities also really helps!”

Fun facts about Fred: Fred is currently living in Guatemala, where he serves full-time with a ministry called Global Shore. He has been involved with DRIME in some capacity for 12 years, and has been to 7 countries with DRIME. He is passionate about good design, and believes that the only kind of mug that is worth drinking out of is a plain white one.

Evangelism Tip:
Just Try

“Talking to strangers can be hard and a little scary. Our words might be shaky and we might not always know the perfect thing to say, but God looks at our heart behind it and our obedience. If you follow His lead and take that step to tell someone about His love He will make a good thing come out of it. He doesn't need our help, but He wants our help. It is okay to feel nervous, but the problem comes when we let that fear stop us from at least trying.”

Chana Correia, DRIME Staff Member
DRIME Ministry in Paraguay
Since 1994, DRIME has been representing the man in white in cities around the world, using drama as a way to engage people in spiritual conversation. In the past year, 844 people were equipped in drama evangelism, 44,430 people were exposed to a gospel presentation, 9,497 people engaged in a spiritual conversation and 2,387 people made a decision for Christ through our local teams in 9 different countries.
Would you join us in continuing to make Jesus inescapable?
