CADCA Conference

In early February, Susan Rifkin, executive director of the Lillian and Larry Goodman Foundations, attended the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA) national conference in Washington D.C. Through public policy, communications, training, conferences, events, and more, CADCA works to develop and advocate for drug-free communities globally with over 5000 member coalitions.

The National Youth Leadership Initiative is a special part of the CADCA conference. The Initiative equips  teens with essential knowledge and skills to make significant changes at a community level. With support from the Cebrin Goodman Center, four teens from Illinois were able to attend the conference to further enhance their leadership skills.

The Foundation commends these teens on their dedication and initiative to positively influence their peers in leading positive, drug-free lifestyles.
UMOJA's Life Changing Event

Cebrin Goodman Center grantee Umoja Student Development Corporation prepares young people to succeed in college and confidently claim their future.

Recently Umoja organized a Senior Day of Action at Tilden Career Community Academy High School. Over 30 volunteers (including professionals and Umoja alumni) worked one-on-one with 80 students, helping them navigate the college application process.

The Center is proud to support Umoja so they can offer truly life changing opportunities to teens throughout Chicagoland. We wish the very best to all the students at Tilden. Read more about this initiative here.
