Winter Walk & Roll to School Day
On February 1st, students across the City can join in by walking or cycling to school. Join in with your child, or on your own, and log your commute on the Smart Commute tool

On February 10th, cycle to Gore Park between 7:30am-9:30am for refreshments and great company.
PLUS two ways to win prizes of a $50 VISA gift card throughout the month:

25 hammer hoops were installed at various locations throughout Wards 7 & 8. Cyclists now have 50 additional parking spots to utilize when visiting establishments within these Wards.
Five multi-ring bike parking racks were installed at Pier 8 and 1 multi-ring bike parking rack was installed at Bayfront Park. Additionally, 2 hammer hoops were installed at the entrance to Pier 4. Through these installations an additional 40 bicycle parking spots will be available for those visiting the Bay.

The City of Hamilton is looking for volunteers to join the Mobility Lab - Cycling Network, and provide feedback as we design new bicycle infrastructure.
There are 4 award categories this year that can be given to individuals, businesses or organizations that foster a culture of sustainable transportation within the City:
Organization of the Year
Advocate of the Year
School of the Year
Smart Commute Employer of the Year

The Hamilton Cycling Committee (HCC) is looking for new members to join. This committee advises City Council on:
a. all matters related to cycling and micro-mobility
b. monitors the implementation of the Hamilton Cycling Master Plan
c. encourages and participates in planning for bicycling and micro-mobility facilities
d. encourages citizens to cycle instead of drive
e. educates the public about the benefits and necessities of cycling
f. integrates the work of area municipal bicycle and active transportation committees
