A positive performance-based community for gay/bisexual men/transmen and their allies in South Central Indiana. We foster talent, fellowship, pride, and understanding through excellence in vocal music. Founded in 2002.
Join the QMC team for South Central Indiana AIDS Walk on April 7, 2017. Click here to sign up and pay the $25 registration fee to join our team; that amount goes toward our team fundraising goal. It also gives you the chance to do something great for our community and for those living with HIV in this part of the state. Soliciting donations from your friends is not required, neither is walking on the day of the event. But both go a long way toward a worthy goal. Your friends and family and coworkers are all looking for a way to help where it's needed and to do something locally uplifting. Please take part!
Please volunteer for WFIU's Pledge Drive: Bloomington’s NPR-affiliated station, WFIU, is having its April 2017 Fund Drive from Thursday, April 6, through Wednesday, April 12. In the past, Quarryland volunteers have helped by signing up for a two to four-hour block to answer phones and take pledges when listeners call in their membership support. Click here for a sign-up page with the available dates and times and contact Luiz (see below) for more information.
If you are unable to attend rehearsal, contact the Chorus Manager, Luiz Lopes, via Facebook Messenger, email (email@example.com) or text (812-360-8508)! Please remember that if you contact someone else and they forget to let Luiz know, your absence will be marked as unexcused.
Performance and Fellowship Opportunities
Doug McKinney and Peter Burkholder (QMC alums) organize the monthly Bloomington Gay Men's Fellowship. If you'd like to be placed on their mailing list contact Doug McKinney (firstname.lastname@example.org)
There is a speakeasy-style party for gay men, their friends, allies, and other aesthetes (no cover, no requests) organized by Aaron Tilford at the Root Cellar (basement of FARM on Kirkwood Ave by BLU Boy and Buskirk-Chumley Theater) called Monsieur. Every week on Sunday, 8pm-Midnight.

Memorization schedule by Barry Magee:
The following should have been memorized by now:
January (done): If You Only Knew, Our Number One Problem, The Second Song
March 13 (done): Dancing Through Life, The Sound of Silence
The following should be memorized by the dates indicated:
March 27: Birthday, Schoolyard, and Scholars from #twitterlieder
April 3: Celebration; Over the Rainbow; and OMG, Fiber, and Treasures from #twitterlieder
April 10: Rise of Sun, Big Night, Merry-Go-Round, and Auto-Correct from #twitterlieder
April 17: People of Light from #twitterlieder
Nic Newby prepared practice versions of Celebration, Dancing Through Life, Over the Rainbow, The Sound of Silence, and #twitterlieder. They are available for download in the shared Google drive linked here.
Notes by Nic:
If you have any problems accessing the files, please contact me and I will make sure you get them.
Also: some people find it easier to learn their part with a piano playing the vocal part rather than a voice sound (usually for rhythmic reasons). Let me know if you are one of those people and I will find a way to make it work for you.
You should be able to pan your stereo all the way to the right and hear only your part and all the way to the left to hear only everyone else's parts and all the way to the center to hear all parts.
Notes by Mitch Serslev:
Did you know there are regular rehearsals until our concert? You can't afford to miss one more.
QMC will continue to rehearse after our spring concert and through the month of May, as our 15th season doesn't end until we've performed for the Spencer Pride Festival on June 3, 2017!
