The Principal's Message
Hazel Hawke (Masterson)
This week the book fair is displayed in the Harbeck Library.
Children have the opportunity to preview all the books and create a wish list
of all the books they like.
Parents have the opportunity to view and purchase the books before and after school and at the Book Cafe on Tuesday night.

We would like to acknowledge the sad passing of Hazel Hawke who was an ex-student at Mount Hawthorn. Hazel Masterson lived in Coogee Street and made a significant contribution to cancer research and indigenous rights. There is a page (38) dedicated to Hazel in our 100 Years Magical Memories book which includes her 1938 school report.

We all loved collecting trading cards as children and remember collecting and trading in the good old days. Now that I am a Principal it is time for my annual clarification of the rules that are in place to stop unscrupulous trading and cards going missing.
Cards are only to come to school on Fridays and are to be left on desks and shared with pride. That way we will ensure that you keep your favourites.
We now have a lovely new gate on Woodstock Street. It won’t be locked, so parents may enter the school grounds via the oval. Watch out for errant footballs!
Kiss & Drive
After consultation with Dr Alison Harman, I have decided to extend the existing Kiss & Drive on Killarney Street to include the bus zones, as the buses depart at 2.45pm.
