What's Liz Nichols up to this month? Storytelling? Laughter Yoga? Kids & Family Yoga?

Dear <<First Name>>,

Leaves are turning, crisp apples are in the farmers market, and there's that tiny chill in the air - fall is here! Always my favorite season, from my NY childhood on. Happy Harvest Moon!

In the Jewish calendar, this is the start of the new year. One new thing I'm doing is being part of a wonderful annual Alzheimers Association event for family caregivers and people with early stage memory loss or cognitive impairment. Please forward the information below to anyone you know who needs support and hope.

Another is partnering with Pearachute, a new company making the best kids’ classes and activities in the Bay Area available through an online monthly membership (or various “FlexPack” options). This helps parents, by allowing their kids to drop-in and try new activities, and helps teachers like me find new families and fill class spots. My family yoga class this Sunday should be "up" on their schedule very soon. They’re offering some great introductory deals, so check them out here.

Of course, we can't ignore that fall has brought more than the usual share of trouble and trauma this year. Here's a harvest of opportunities to bring the power of fun into your life, whatever your age or stage. Being creative, and connecting with others in joyful ways, gives us strength to face challenges.

What juicy option will you pick? Click on the links below to see all the details. And please, spread the good word by forwarding. Thanks!

Storytelling around the Bay

 Wine Country Spoken Word Festival
Friday-Sunday, October 13th - 15th, in various venues in Petaluma

This exciting, brand-new festival will celebrate both local storytellers and bring national and international spoken word artists to Petaluma, to celebrate storytelling.  An amazing range of voices and genres of spoken word will bring communities together.
Don’t miss best-selling, quirky author Sarah Vowell, or Bil Lepp, five time champion of the WV Liars’s Contest.  Click here for all the details.

I will be part of the “SAC for Stories Community Conference” on Sunday. This is put on by our membership group, the Storytelling Assn of California. We’ll have a panel on the varied applications of storytelling, informative and engaging workshops, a brainstorming lunch on monthly community story events (that’s where I’ll be speaking) -- and of course…. storytelling.
