Dear <<First Name>>,

Months fly by and in the Netherlands the new Forerunner team is seeing the first signs of spring appear after a long grey winter. Meanwhile Johan and Alette are enjoying the sun in Thailand and skip the Dutch winter and spring altogether. The last two newsletters were full of new developments and in this update we want to share the way this process unfolds.

Johan and Alette in Thailand
Johan and Alette are writing  from Thailand: This first month in Thailand has been like a paradise of prayer, worship, missions, and family all in one! The Lord has really been speaking to us so much about the desire his heart that we be truly his Household of Prayer that moves and breathes together from the place of his presence. What does it mean to be a family in the body of Christ? So many of us long for community, yet most of us lack the revelation of what real community looks like. We believe the Holy Spirit is really moving on his church globally at this time with an agenda to truly bind us together in love. Now that we are entering the second month of the DTS, we are experiencing a little bit of what it looks like when a bunch of sons and daughters of the living God, of many different nationalities and cultures, come together, live together, and do life together. Eventually everyone gets comfortable, and vulnerability starts to happen whether you’re ready or not! It’s such a wonderful context to experience healthy community life between the small groups every week, the one on ones, the prayer and worship times every morning together, the same worship team every week, the lectures, the outreaches, the work duties together, and a lot of open conversations about what accountability, healthy boundaries, and a culture of honor actually mean.
We laugh together, we cry together, we build each other up, and we deal with offenses quickly. We believe this is just a foretaste of what God wants to birth even more in us, and in our community back home in the Netherlands. For us personally, this has also been a time of regeneration. Johan likes to say that he feels like an engine that is being revised and updated after many years in ministry. Even though we have a full daily schedule, it really does feel like a sabbatical, and we are so blessed for this time to just focus on Jesus, be rejuvenated in spirit, and enter into the new season God is bringing us into with a clear vision and mandate!
Thanks for keeping us in your prayers!
Blessings, Johan, Alette, Zadok and little bean

Our new group forerunners

As mentioned in the previous newsletter, God has brought four new team members to Forerunner in a supernatural way. We have promised to introduce them to you and we would like to do so here. We will begin with Sjoerd, who as been a stable and reliable factor from the very beginning of Forerunner, and then introduce you to 'the 4 new Forerunners'.

Sjoerd van Noort - treasurer

Sjoerd is married to Marlies and father to two beautiful daughters. His daily work includes developing the Bible study app Online Bible (onlinebible.com). In addition, he has been involved in Forerunner as treasurer since its foundation. Marlies and Sjoerd have a heart for children (Isaiah 1:17).

Francien Wisse - secretary

Francien is 31 years old and works for the Dutch government. Her vision is to see more justice and more love for Jesus spring from the relationship with God. Since Forerunner shares this vision she feels well in place. Her role is  secretary, which also includes she is contact person for the missionaries.

Roos Hartman - board member
Roos is married to her musical friend Richard and together they have two beautiful daughters, Olivia and Gloria. In daily life she is the housewife and teacher of her eldest daughter who is being homeschooled. She loves to spend time at House of Prayer Amersfoort. Roos has a passion for dancing / singing and taking others along in those ereas. She is now a happy hearted board member at Forerunner, and loves to see the work of God and be in contact with the missionaries.

Sebastiaan en Jolanda de Rooij – team member & chairman

Sebastiaan and Jolanda have a passion for prayer, people, justice and above all a passion for Jesus. They are involved in the Amersfoort House of Prayer and they work part-time. Sebastiaan loves drumming, playing the piano and socialising.

Jolanda loves being creative, good conversations and pioneering. They have two daughters (3.5 and 1.5 years old) and expect a third baby this summer. Jolanda is chairman and Sebastiaan actively participates in the Forerunner team.

In this new team we have a strong and diverse group of people who really carry the vision of Forerunner in their hearts. We look forward to the guidance and direction God will give them in the coming time to carry and develop Forerunner.

Reminder: specify your gifts

Just a reminder to specify general donations to Forerunner if you want Johan and Alette to receive them. You can still give to Forerunner in general, the gift will then benefit the work of Forerunner or the projects that need it most at that time.

To specifically invest in the work and livelihood of Johan and Alette mention project number FR501. If you want to give specifically to the children, mention FR201 (India) or FR202 (Myanmar).

Many blessings from the new Forerunner team and Johan & Alette.

What is Forerunner?
We exist to raise up prayer and justice in the nations. We partner together with friends, organizations, and ministries around the globe to see this vision realized.
