Watershed Approach to Landscaping
Project Kicks Off!

CalWEP is excited to have officially kicked off our project with the Water Efficiency Trust and Daily Acts to bring the Watershed Approach to Landscape Design to the Central Valley.

Lead by CalWEP Program Manager (and Tulare local), Lisa Cuellar, the initial phase of this project is all about community organizing. CalWEP staff will be meeting with community members and leaders in the region to discuss how this approach to landscape transformation can not only save water but also build local partners' capacity, support community needs, improve soil health and engage disadvantaged community residents. Contact for more information!

California Watershed Approach to Landscape Design was developed by Green Gardens Group and is a joint project of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers CA Chapter, CalWEP, Surfrider Association and the Water Efficiency Trust. The book is dedicated to Paul Herzog, a tireless advocate for watershed wise gardens.

Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District earned a Gold level of recognition, which reflects the District’s great efforts in developing and running an exemplary water conservation program. The AWWA voluntary G480 Standard identifies critical elements of an effective water conservation program that water providers can adopt at their own discretion.
