August 6. Saturday Save the Date. Commemorate Hiroshima/Nagasaki in Lewiston this year near the Bernard Lown Peace Bridge. Lown, a Lewiston High School and University of Maine graduate, moved to Lewiston from Lithuania when he was 13 years old. Check out Lewiston at Mayors for Peace.
The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) is expected to drop July 11. Rep. Golden offered increases in the already bloated "must pass" budget which National Priorities notes could have provided 425 elementary school teachers for an entire year in Lewiston.

Ukraine  Somerville Maine's Brian Milakovsky  helped in the delivery of humanitarian aid and the June 28 evacuation of over 110 people from Lisichansk, Seversk, Soledar, Bakhmut, Slavyansk &  Kramatorsk. Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons. We were at Rep. Pingree's office asking support for the Norton Bill, the ICAN pledge  and the DC Press Conference about the First Meeting of States Parties to the TPNW in Vienna in June. Dr. Timmon Wallis joined us. #TPNW1MSP! (Screenshot) Rep.Omar was at Press Conference in DC. Malawi is the 66 state to ratify!
Kudos to those who heard Smilin' Trees Disarmament Farms call  to assemble in protest at General Dynamics/ BIW: stop building these Aegis destroyers! FMI on more to come.
IRAN. PAM entreats Biden to restore the JCPOA (the Iran Nuclear Deal) and continues to actively tweet our MOC to #ResealTheDeal.
