Speaking on The Legal Do's and Don'ts of Owning a Small Business

I am often asked to speak at meetings and events here and there. It's fun and I get the opportunity to meet the best people. Recently, I had the honor of speaking at one of the Atlanta Independent Women's Network (AIWN) meetings. This group is comprised of professional women who seek to help other women succeed. The topic I presented was The Legal Do's and Don'ts of Owning a Small Business, listing out 10 areas where small businesses should pay more attention. Apparently this is something near and dear to many, as AIWN had its largest turnout yet, with close to 50 women attending! I'm very excited that it was so well received and would be happy to share the main points with any who are interested, just send me an email.

Additionally, I'd like to welcome my new clients since the last newsletter. I appreciate being your attorney and I look forward to our having a lasting business relationship.

Steve Jobs
Remembering Steve Jobs: Leader and Visionary

I think many will agree that Steve Jobs was the type of person who doesn't come around often. Yes, we can all point to many very intelligent CEOs, but Jobs had something different. Not only was he was a successful leader, but he was also a visionary. Indeed, Jobs was able to look beyond what is to see what could be. These two qualities combined to make him an unstoppable force in the business world. We may not have quite the tech-savvy or foresight that he had, but we can all strive to be better leaders and better business people. Below are two articles that give some good insight into what set Steve Jobs apart from the rest. His style and vision will be missed, but his impact will carry on.
