Keeping you in touch with tango in Australia
Dear <<First Name>>
If you have ever danced with a milonguero you will know that it is something very special. By milonguero I mean one of the older dancers of the milongas of Buenos Aires who has tango in his veins, who was raised on tango and who makes you feel the music in a way you have never felt it before. Respected and skilful dancers of the milongas of Buenos Aires, they are not as plentiful as they once were, and like so many in Buenos Aires who are suffering from the increased cost of living, it is not as easy  for them to visit the popular milongas as it once was.
Every year the milonguero is celebrated in a Festival called Milongueando, held in Buenos Aires around the same time as the International Tango Festival and World Cup. There are many festivals to chose from around the world - Sydney has the second Australian Tango Festival coming up in October. Some of Australia's most popular DJs travel internationally to perform at Tango Festivals. So next time you pack your suitcase, you might decided to include a tango festival in your travels...and maybe even hope to encounter a milonguero!
Meanwhile there's plenty happening at home...see below.
Yours in tango,
