Hello from Lori
We are officially in Holiday Countdown mode!  Have your lists ready? We're trying to make sure there are lots of items in store to help fill any gifting needs you have. Except booze...I don't have that, but I have friends that do! On social media I'll be sharing a whole bunch of tips and ideas for shopping or hosting or visiting with friends throughout the season to help you keep it local. If you aren't on social media and need some help keeping your shopping local, email me!  I can send you some ideas. Holidays are always a hard time of year for small businesses, but after the last year...we need all the help we can get.

Halloween was yesterday, so it's fresh in my mind.  Really fun day down here. Tons of great costumes. If you missed mine in person or online, see above. I was Titania, Queen of the Fairies, from Midsummer Night's Dream by Shakespeare.

Other than that, not much new stuff to tell you guys about in October.  All the new store peeps are figuring things out.  If you haven't met them yet, you definitely should!  Re on Wednesdays, Grace and Makena on Saturdays and Jody on Sundays.

I went through another patch of not wanting to read anything so my reading list is pitiful. I just started a book by a new author that I am enjoying, I have some hope for this one! Stay Tuned!

Where It All Lands by Jennie Wexler was our YA Bookclub read. It was done in the fashion of the movie, Sliding Doors. It wasn't bad, but I wasn't a fan of the open-ended ending.

Dance Away With Me by Susan Elizabeth Phillips. I had some serious editorial issues with this book. A lot of the content felt contrived, as if the author was trying to reach a younger reading group than she normally does. I felt the hero wasn't fleshed out and the heroine was too perfect to be true. Just not a good read for me.

Indulgence in Death by JD Robb - This book was focused more on the mystery than the characters so it wasn't one of my favorites, but I think those that like mystery would enjoy it.

I re-read Collision Course by K.A. Mitchell, The Half of Us by Cardeno C, How to Raise an Honest Rabbit by Amy Lane, Luna and the Lie by Mariana Zapata, Naked in Death, Glory in Death and Immortal in Death by JD Robb

Hope to see you around the store soon!

Happy Turkey month!

I love Thanksgiving why you want to know? I have an excuse to eat stuffing and gravy. That is all I need. The turkey is only necessary to get the gravy.

So I got moved into my house. Once I had a chance to be in the house by myself I decided that I hated almost everything inside. Never fear it is all fixable. First off the walls and ceiling were all the same color, EVERYWHERE! Who does that? And I don’t like the color. Then there is the interior trim, baby poo is the best description I can come up with. So that is what I have been doing, painting. The ceilings are now a beautiful shade of white, however it took two coats of paint to cover it. Did I mention vaulted ceilings? Hopefully the walls will not require two coats or I’ll be painting for the rest of my life.

I have done a bit of reading however I have been moving into a house with no furniture so nowhere to put stuff and as a result my little book of books has not been found yet. I think it was a Bridgerton book by Julia Quinn that I was reading when the moving occurred.

One Day in December by Josie Silver, new author to me and I loved it.

Sunset Beach by Mary Kay Andrews, hers are always a good read.

Next month there will be more moving/painting adventures to report. Did I mention I have almost no furniture?

Happy Thanksgiving and always strive to read more than I do.
