Woodlife Trails Summer Update - In this issue we look at what we've done during the first half of the year - and what we're up to the rest of the summer and into the autumn.

We will also let you know what exciting projects we've got in the pipe-line.

It's Show Time!

Our "Table of Death" has been going down very well at summer shows. Not perhaps the best way to advertise yourself (!) but people really do take an interest in our skulls, skins, scat and other tracks and signs the animals leave behind in the woodland.

In fact it's all extremely educational and together with our powerful microscope and owl pellet study box, we keep the youngsters amused for hours... and they keep coming back!

This has shown that our old-style naturalist & educational approach to the natural world works very well. We can create a Natural Learning Environment on our courses or we can, of course, visit your educational establishment, whether it's a school or youth organisation. We can show you what you can find in the woods if you look hard enough. We can even take you around your local woods to see what you've been missing.
Have a look at the Educational visits page of the site.

Welcome to our Summer Newsletter

Woodlife Trails has had a great summer so far. We've attended 3 shows; the Bushcraft Magazine meet, Naturefest and the Bushcraft Show in the Lake District. We've held 4 Countryside & Woodlland Awareness Courses; 1 family pairs course; 1 Woodland Crafts Course and a Wilderness Immersion Course. All the courses have received great feedback. During the rest of the summer we'll be running our standard courses on demand - so have a look at the course list and register your interest.

Pick and Mix

Our Pick and Mix selection box is now up on the website. This isn't just for groups. Individuals can select course content, duration, location and even dates for a bespoke course.

Countryside & Woodland Awareness

The June and July courses are, unfortunately, now full, but there are places left for the August through to November dates. Book now to ensure you have a place. This course is not just for beginners or families. Whatever your experience, join us and we will open your senses and show you what you've been missing all this time!

In the Pipeline

We are busy recce-ing sites for our upcoming week-long courses next year. We're also putting the finishing touches to our new Woodland Tracker Course. Our Diploma award is due for launch in 2012. More news in our Autumn issue. See you then.

Still To Come...

We still have a number of courses and shows to run this year. We are helping the National Trust at Hatfield Forest run their inaugural Wild Camping weekends and we have 4 more shows to attend including the Landrover Show, Wilderness Gathering in Wiltshire and the Woodfest at Hatfield Forest.
The autumn fallow deer rut will come under our scrutiny with our second and very popular Wilderness Immersion Course of the year. Unfortunately, this course is full, but go to the website and register an interest for the next one. We're pretty sure we'll be doing a surprise course for the festive season - but more about that in our Autumn newsletter.

...And Finally...

Have a lok at our main website We've completely revamped the Woodlife Trails menu area and there will be something there for everyone.
As always leave a comment or join the Woodlife Network Community (it's free!) and discover a new world of Wildlife, Tracking and Bushcraft!
Have a great summer.
