This week will be the first week where you all will experience just how great the produce losses have been on the farm. To spruce up the stand a bit I am bringing a collection of 28 beautiful postcards of the farm. They depict the produce, the chickens, and the tractors at their best. We have been given special permission to sell them at the market as part of our fund raising efforts.
Market CSA Program
The market csa program has been brewing in my head for a while now. For those of you who do not know, CSA stands for community supported agriculture. Evolutionary Organics has been selling at Grand Army Plaza since 2000, making you my community. This program will be run as a prepay/ debit system. Essentially you pay now for the produce you will take home next season. I do expect the program to be very popular, and I will need to put a cap on it. For more details and information on how to sign up for this program follow this link: https://docs.google.com/document/d/16umcVJgBGy8h3RKpijYFCPJvYwWtMezB5SgTv8ke9XI/edit?hl=en_US&pli=1
The chickens are doing really well on the online gift registry! So far they have received enough donations to get their organic feed (which comes from another local organic farm) for October and November. I am excited, the chickens are clucking. The other category that is doing very well is general farm support. I just take this to mean I should carry on and do what needs to be done. With that in mind, I have gone ahead and purchased the cover crop seeds. I will soon put the farm to bed sweetly under fields of winter rye and clover and thank her for all she has given me this year.
For those of you who have not yet had a chance to check out the wish list gift registry, I would like to encourage you to do so. I intend it to be both fun and informative. You get to learn a bunch about the farm and see part of the very real expenses that we need to meet to keep going, and then you get to choose how you want to support us. In the end I hope to learn what is most imprtant to you all. Honestly every little bit helps, and a lot of little bits will get us to a safer place and allow us to plan for next season. It would also be very much appreciated if you can forward this on to anyone you think may be interested in helping out the farm. It means everything to me!
