Hi there! Thanks so much for subscribing to my brand new newsletter! Since this is my very first issue, I have a ton of fun news to share (& don't we all need a little fun news these days?!). Please feel free to forward this on to friends who might be interested in staying up to date on what's cooking. Coming up in the next issue: a giveaway & new book news!

If you haven't already heard, the first book in my new middle grade series - THE GREAT PEACH EXPERIMENT - will roll into stores in April, and you can pre-order your copy now!

When I visit with kids at schools, I often get asked which of my books is my favorite. Now, finally, I have an easy answer: THIS ONE! There's so much of my own family stirred into this adventure, and I've never enjoyed writing any book as much as I did this one. For When Life Gives You Lemons, Make Peach Pie, I mixed together a used food truck, a road trip that doesn’t go as planned, a zany family, and a whole lot of pie, creating the recipe for a sweet middle grade series brimming with humor, heart, and characters you’ll fall in love with.

What's it about?

After a tough year, Lucy, Freddy, and Herb Peach are ready for summer vacation. Lucy can't wait to dive into all of the books on the 7th grade summer reading list. Freddy wants lots of time to work on his art projects and build cardboard fortresses (when he isn’t stuck in summer school). Herb simply wants to swim every day and find a pet to care for all on his own.

But on the brink of summer break, their dad makes a big announcement: one of the inventions their mom came up with before she passed away has sold, and now the Peaches are millionaires! Dad has bigger plans than blowing all the cash on fun stuff or investing it. He’s bought a used food truck, and has decided they'll spend the summer traveling the country selling pies. They dub it the Great Peach Experiment – a summer of bonding while living out one of Mom’s dreams.

Summer plans, sunk. And there’s one more issue Dad’s neglected: none of them knows how to bake. . .

A perfect blend of humor, heart, and family antics, When Life Gives You Lemons, Make Peach Pie is a delectable treat to be gobbled down in one sitting, or savored slowly. (Slice of pie on the side optional, but highly recommended.)

If you want to know more about The Great Peach Experiment, visit my website. I have lots of info about my writing process for this series, and will continue to add more in the months leading up to this book's release!

Don't forget to add it to your
Goodreads list.

Do you love adult romantic comedies?

If you love Hallmark holiday romance movies as much as I do, I have a fresh new book for you! Just a few weeks ago, I published an adult holiday romance novel that's filled with humor, fun friends, a charming small town, and lots of sweet romance.

Why did I write something that's so different from all my kids' books? Even though Hallmark holiday movies are usually way too predictable and (I hate to say it) the acting is never particularly great, I just can't get enough of these seasonal treats. I'll be honest: I've been known to watch more than a healthy number of cozy winter romances in the spring and summer, too!

There's something very comforting about sinking into a romantic winter wonderland and spending a few hours heading toward an inevitable happily-ever-after. Writing this book felt very much the same - it was a delightful escape. The characters are witty and fun, the romance is heartwarming, and I hope reading it will bring you joy and a welcome little escape from the chaos of the world around us.

Note: If you've already read it, please consider leaving a short review - I really appreciate it!

Want me to read to you or your kids?

Did you know I've read aloud the first chapter of almost every single one of my books on YouTube?

I have also now uploaded two full-book read-alouds - Puppy Pirates: Sea Sick and The Quirks in Circus Circus. These free full-book read-alouds won't be posted on my channel forever, but until the world returns to something more closely resembling normal, I'll leave them up there for kids to enjoy.
