Friendly Reminder: The Peach Pie Truck has been out in the world for almost three months now! If you've read WHEN LIFE GIVES YOU LEMONS, MAKE PEACH PIE, would you please take a moment to leave a short review on Amazon and/or other online sites? It really helps!
THE GREAT PEACH EXPERIMENT #2:
THE PEACH PIT COVER REVEAL!
Today, my educator-friend Colby Sharp & the Nerdy Book Club have something super-fun to share over on the Nerdy blog...it's the cover for THE GREAT PEACH EXPERIMENT 2: THE PEACH PIT, along with some behind-the-scenes scoop about this next Peach adventure!
I wrote a little post where I talk about a few of the events that helped inspire some scenes in the book (along with a few pics for proof). Anyone who has heard me speak knows that I draw a ton of inspiration from real life for my stories, and this book is no exception. Creepy doll heads buried in walls? Yep. Head over to THE NERDY BOOK CLUB BLOG to get all the details.
Also, now would be a good time to add THE PEACH PIT to your list on Goodreads. And if you haven't yet ordered your copy of WHEN LIFE GIVES YOU LEMONS, MAKE PEACH PIE, get on that! It's the perfect summer read. ORDER HERE or get signed copies from Red Balloon HERE.
Daring Dreamers Club: Audio Books!
Are you a fan of my Daring Dreamers Club series? If so, I have some very exciting news - the first three books in the series will be published as an AUDIO BOOK collection next month!
Here's the crazy part...the third book in the series (my personal favorite story out of the bunch, RUBY STEPS UP - is a book about soccer, teamwork, and twin shenanigans!) was never published as a print book. So this audio book is your one and only chance to read the next book in the series.
It's been an unconventional publishing journey with this series, to be sure, but I'm glad fans will now have at least some chance to carry on with the adventures of these five incredible girls.
If you haven't read the first couple books in the series yet, they're a ton of fun. Get MORE INFO HERE!
If you've read THE GREAT PEACH EXPERIMENT #1: When Life Gives You Lemons, Make Peach Pie with your class or book club, there is an Educator Guide you can use to help facilitate discussion! You can find the guide on my publisher's website (scroll down to the bottom of the page): EDUCATOR GUIDE HERE!
Book Recommendations
Some of the best books I've read the past couple months include: Alone by Megan Freeman, Starfish by Lisa Fipps, and Red, White, and Whole by Rajani LaRocca. Interestingly, all three are novels-in-verse. I used to say I didn't really like NIV, but I think I just hadn't yet found a book in this style that I truly loved. So even if you're reluctant to read novels-in-verse, I'd urge you to give these three a try!
ERIN SODERBERG DOWNING has written more than fifty books for kids, tweens, and young adults. The first book in the GREAT PEACH EXPERIMENT series - When Life Gives You Lemons, Make Peach Pie - was a Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Selection. Some of her other popular titles include two fun series – Puppy Pirates and The Quirks – and the magical middle-grade novel Moon Shadow. Next up: the next book in the Great Peach Experiment series (Book #2: The Peach Pit, April 2022) and the middle-grade novel Controlled Burn (Fall 2022). Before becoming an author, Erin was a children’s book editor, a cookie inventor, and also worked for Nickelodeon. She lives in Minneapolis with her husband, three hilarious kids, a cuddly goldendoodle named Wally (the star of Puppy Pirates!), and Nutmeg the mischievous mini aussiedoodle puppy.
